The hit FOX show was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, along with 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, and The Office, but the award went to Modern Family.

Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Darren Criss, and Lea Michele strike a pose on the cover of TV Guide‘s latest issue, on newsstands Thursday (January 12).

The Glee stars and co-creator Ryan Murphy chatted about the show’s upcoming Michael Jackson tribute episode.

“Michael‘s kids are somewhat fans of the show, so the estate was lovely. In fact, they liked the writing so much that halfway through planning they asked us to do another one about him next year,” Ryan shared, though he hasn’t confirmed a follow-up.

As for Dianna Agron‘s memory of the late King of Pop, “His life was bumpy – his relationship with his father, his marriage, his friendships. It wasn’t a life that was by any means normal. As America we had a love for him, and then it kind of dwindled. But once he passed, everybody threw everything out the door and realized his impact on music and what an incomparable artist he was,” she told the mag.

I had no idea when I saw it that I would be working with Lea. You never know what’s going to happen and who you might work with someday. It’s just really very special. And Jon Groff – we love him.”

On her favorite moments from Glee: “I loved doing ‘Thriller’. This year, I really loved playing all the bad Quinn stuff – I thought that was really fun. I love working with Idina Menzel. This Michael Jackson one was really, really fun to work on… Yeah, I think you guys will really enjoy it.”
