Dita Von Teese enjoys some girl-bonding on Valentine’s Day (Saturday, February 14) in Paris, France.

The 36-year-old burlesque star, who wore matching Louboutins, just wrapped up her final performance on Sunday for her two-week ‘nude revue’ run.

“Performing at the Crazy Horse means a lot to me. The first time I came to Paris, it’s the first place I went to,” she says.

Dita continues, “I’ve seen the show 20 or 30 times. I was obsessed with it and all the people who had been there since it first opened in 1951. I thought it was very strange that all the US presidents would go there when they came to Paris. That would never happen nowadays… It’s a different time.” More Here! »

Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese is decadently decked out in a typical head-to-toe black Parisienne uniform as she leaves a radio studio in Paris on Wednesday (February 4).

Her two week run of performances at the world famous nude revue and cabaret, The Crazy Horse, began on February 1 and will run through Valentine’s Day this year. Showcasing not only her striptease skills, Dita will also be performing two songs that she has recorded herself.    

She has said, ”I started performing burlesque in 1991 and originally my audience was in strip clubs, pole dancing clubs, fetish clubs and I’ve watched the way it changed…I’ve been doing the same show all along but why has it become more fashionable? It’s interesting because I’m not the one that’s changed.”

Dita Von Teese (in Elie Saab) hits the red carpet prior to her strip show on Sunday (January 1) at The Crazy Horse in Paris, France.

“I’m just trying to bring back the original art form,” says the 36-year-old burlesque beauty. “Unfortunately it seems that now in America they’ve lost all sense of what burlesque really is. It’s just something very racy for them,” she said. “It’s not like in France where they still remember names like Mistinguett and Josephine Baker. In America they’ve completely forgotten this and have a hard time coming to terms with the idea that striptease could’ve been a form of classic entertainment. Dita Von Teese looks exquisite in Elie Saab at the Fashion Dinner for Aids at the Pavillon d’Armenonville on Thursday (January 29) in Paris, France.

“I was so shy in other ways but I was never shy about that,” the 36-year-old burlesque beauty said of her distinctive look. “For people to be looking at me because I was wearing an unusual hat or a strange dress and looking like I stepped off a movie set — I’ve been used to that for my entire adult life.”

“I feel that Paris is a place that still appreciates its showgirls,” the 36-year-old burlesque star has said.” I’ve always had a real fascination with the Crazy Horse ever since I was a teenager and I found a picture of this line of nearly nude toy soldiers standing at attention (referring to the trademark parade that opens the nightly show). I wanted to do something more elaborate this time. Combine the Crazy Horse style with what I do which is classic American burlesque.”

The 36-year-old burlesque star has been at the fashion shows admiring designers such as John Galliano at Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, and Karl Lagerfeld.

“The theatrics speak to me as a showgirl,” Dita von Teese told Reuters on Monday after the haute couture shows. “It is good to know there are other people who appreciate this kind of thing — beading, rhinestone, feathers.”

Dita Von Teese keeps it classy at the Christian Dior fashion show during Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2009 at Musee Rodin on Monday (January 26) in Paris, France.

The 36-year-old burlesque star is also in town for a two-week ‘nude revue’ run at the celebrated Crazy Horse theater from February 1.

Dita Von Teese literally turns heads as she walks up Vine St. to Bardot nightclub in West Hollywood on Saturday (January 3).

It turns out we will never find the 36-year-old burlesque star, whose real name is Heather Sweet, looking less than immaculate. Dita has said, “I know the picture the paparazzi want is me coming out of Starbucks in jeans with my hair all messy, but that’s just not going to happen. I just think that when you take a minute to look your best, you get what you want. And I pretty much get what I want.”
