Scrubs star Donald Faison called up JustJared.com while on the set of his top secret Funny or Die video. The 35-year-old actor talked about the latest cause near and dear to his heart — The 50,000 Shoes Challenge.
JJ: How did you get involved with The 50,000 Pairs in 50 Days Challenge?
DF: I had a lot of shoes and sneakers in my closet that I wanted to get rid of. My girlfriend [Cacee Cobb] and I were hanging out in my closet and works for a shoe charity called Soles4Souls, so she asked me if I could give them away.
CaCee told me 300 million kids in the world don’t have shoes, so I thought it would be a good idea to give those shoes away to the kids that can’t afford it. That’s how I got on board. She then took me down to the mission and I gave out shoes to homeless people down there. Since then, when you realize that you’re helping people out, it makes you want to do more. Since then, CaCee’s gotten Zach [Braff] involved, and a few others.
JJ: How many shoes have you donated yourself?
DF: I want to say 30 pairs, but I don’t think I have that many sneakers, so about 15 pairs.
JJ: When do you get back to filming Scrubs?
DF: The 31st! Very excited.

Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison spoof the cult favorite TV show, CHiPs, at a photo shoot in Los Angeles on Saturday (May 16).
Both of them can do the blue steel face so well. Hilarious!
CHiPs followed the adventures of two macho California Highway Patrol motorcycle cops, Francis “Ponch” Poncherello (Erik Estrada) and Jon Baker (Larry Wilcox).
Earlier this week, it was announced that Zach has signed to be on Scrubs for six episodes to transition the show to its new format, which is currently unknown.
Former Felicity star Keri Russell plays wild sorority sister Melody (and Elliot’s college coommate) in a two-episode stint on Scrubs. J.D. (Zach Braff) hopes to get lucky and “mash” it with Melody.
Love it how they covered up Keri’s belly with big belts and trench coats! (Keri’s expecting her first child this summer with hubby contractor Shane Deary.)

Scrubs episodes “My Turf War” and “My Cold Shower” airs April 26 and May 3, respectively.

Tell me about your big make-out scene with Zach. [Laughs] I told him, “Do girls just get hired to make out with you?” Like, every new girl makes out with Zach. But, you know, he said I was his first pregnant girl.
I was flipping through Vanity Fair a few months ago and came across you… naked! [Laughs] You do an entire photo shoot full of beautiful clothes for an entire day, and then the last five minutes as you’re walking out the door they’re like, “Wait! Let’s do one more thing!” It was a total of seven minutes and that’s the one they chose.
Were you upset? No. I thought it was fine. I thought it was totally tasteful. I don’t think there’s much about me that’s provocative or over the line, so I thought it was fine. But Shane, at the time, was like, “You did what?”
In light of the awards season (the Oscars are this weekend), General Motors threw its annual GM TEN event last night — a charity-driven celebrity couture fashion show. It’s where fashion, cars, and Hollywood join forces for one special night.
With 2007 marking the 6th annual, this year’s runway had an all-star lineup including Katherine Heigl, Denise Richards, Jennifer Hudson, Sarah Wayne Callies, Mary J. Blige, Christina Milian, Leah Rimini, Roselyn Sanchez, Emmy Rossum, Shane West, Mario Lopez, David Boreanaz, Tyrese Gibson, Pete Wentz, Mekhi Phifer, Donald Faison, and of course, the Heroes cast — Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, and Jack Coleman.
