• Michael Jackson sported women’s pumps, shades, and a big floppy hat as he tried to go unnoticed in Saint-Tropez. The king of pop was accompanied by a similarly outfitted young boy, according to the Daily News.
• Lost star Josh Holloway tells the November issue of Men’s Journal he worries that the show’s twisty, secretive plot will put him out of work. “Everybody in the cast worries about being killed off, and we wouldn’t know until they handed us the script - three days before shooting,” the 37-year-old actor says. “It’s a sensitive issue. People have houses here, kids in school. Most of us aren’t in our twenties anymore.”

• Insiders in Janet Jackson’s camp say she and Justin Timberlake are in talks to perform together at an upcoming live show like the Grammys. Jackson and Timberlake’s last joint performance at the 2004 Superbowl ended with Janet’s infamous wardrobe malfunction and cost network CBS $550,000 in fines.
• The Post reports that Lance Armstrong is rumored to be dating Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump. Ivanka is currently in L.A. shooting The Apprentice. EEEWWW!!!
• Amanda Peet wed screenwriter David Benioff on Saturday night in New York City. The two exchanged vows at the Friends Seminary then celebrated with Peet’s Studio 60 castmates. “It was beautiful,” actor Mark Ruffalo.

• Kevin Federline has been tapped again to be the face of Five Star Vintage clothing, company spokesmanKenneth Loo said Wednesday. The company chose K-fedagain because of his “renegade style,” Loo said, and because it nearly sold out of each outfit Federline modeled. His latest ads, showcasing the company’s holiday line, will begin appearing next month.
• Angelina Jolie is set to star as Dagney Taggart, the most powerful female character in the film adaptation of Ayn Rand’s iconic tome “Atlas Shrugged”.
• Madonna is expected to pull her concert from NBC because the network wants to cut her controversial crucifix scene. A spokeswoman for Madonna said yesterday she would issue a statement, perhaps as early as today, about the special. Noooooo, don’t back out Madonna!!!
• Barbara Walters has landed the first interview with Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin‘widow, Terri. Walters will do the interview in Australia and it will air on September. 27 as part of a special 20/20.
• Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Jake Gyllenhaal, and John Travolta are among 40 celebrities who have signed wooden “dog bones” for a charity auction benefiting the Mississippi Animal Rescue League. The celeb-signed bones will be auctioned off Thursday at the organization’s second annual Fur Ball event. Proceeds will go to constructing a new animal shelter, said Allison Nutt, a MARL board member and chairman of the Fur Ball event committee.
• Donny Osmond will play the role of Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. The play is at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and his run lasts through November 19. Ewwww, I don’t want to see Donny’s hair chest!!!

• Donald Trump’s wife Melania has been searching for a nanny for 5-month-old son Barron on the web site Craigslist.
• Rosie O’ Donnell is already complaining about her power position on "The View."  On her latest posting on Rosie.com, O’ Donnell wrote that she loathed being powerless. "It will be hard 4/ me 2 not b the boss/ it is already/ and we have only just begun,"  she added. The show is set to debut Sept. 5.
• Details of Mel Gibson’s past are still emerging in the wake of his recent anti-Semitic tirade. Gibson and father Hutton attended an event a few years ago run by an Australian group notorious for denying the Holocaust, according to a June 2004 article in On Target, the newsletter of the Australian League of Rights, which claims to promote" loyalty to the Christian concept of God."

For now, Barron William, born 8 lbs. 8 oz., has their Fifth Avenue home all to himself – including a floor above his parents’ bedroom, complete with nursery, kitchen, living room and quarters for a nanny and Mom.
