Eddie Murphy strums away at his guitar and serenades a few of his lady friends aboard a luxury yacht in St. Bart’s on Sunday (December 28).

The 47-year-old actor is rumored to be playing The Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie and The Sun is standing by its reporting. They claim the same source gave them the news in 2005 that Daniel Craig was going to be the next Bond, which proved true.

Eddie’s reps have told Access Hollywood that these rumors are not true.

Eddie Murphy will play Gotham villian The Riddler in the next Batman movie, reports The Sun.

The 47-year-old former Beverly Hills Cop was tapped by British director Christopher Nolan to reprise the role played by Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever.

The studio has also reportedly signed up Transformers star Shia LaBeouf, 22, to play Robin. Rachel Weisz is rumored to be taking up the Catwoman role.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds have split just two weeks after their wedding, according to People.

(Note: Access Hollywood reported this but there is no article or mention of this split on People’s actual website. Take this with a grain of salt!)

The couple tied the knot on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia. The wedding ceremony was reportedly just a spiritual ceremony, so the couple was never officially married to begin with. Ergo, no divorce filings will proceed.

UPDATE: It’s official! Eddie’s reps just released a statement: “After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”

People has the first exclusive photo of newlyweds Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds after being married during a sunset ceremony on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia.

Tracey, 40, is the former wife of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. Murphy, 46, has a baby girl, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, with Melanie “Sporty Spice” Brown. Angel was born on Eddie’s 46th birthday, April 3, 2007.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds tied the knot on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia.

25 friends and family were in attendance at the sunset ceremony on the beach Tuesday. Here are some of the wedding details via People.:

– Tracey walked barefoot down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s “Makings of You.”
– Eddie wore a cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief.
– The wedding was designed by event designer Colin Cowie, who created a gazebo on the beach made out of 6,000 shells for the ceremony.
– The wedding cake featured four layers in whites and cream with handmade sugar cymbidium and dendrobium orchids.

Tracey & Eddie started dating last fall and were engaged in July.

Deadbeat daddy Eddie Murphy defends himself to Entertainment Tonight via a statement on his behalf.

“Eddie Murphy always has and will continue to honor his responsibilities as a father. Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of ANY sort. He acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy. Mr. Murphy views this as a private matter and as such, will not be making any further comments about it.”

In a press conference earlier this week, Mel B’s attorney Gloria Allred alleged that Eddie has not paid a penny in financial support.

Mel B on wanting Angel to know Eddie: “I want [my daughter] to know that she has two parents.”

Allred on Eddie’s financial support: “[He] has not paid one penny of child support”

Allred on Eddie’s engagement to girlfriend Tracey Edmonds: “He bought a big diamond ring for his new fianceé. It is nice to be generous to others, but what about his own baby?”

Allred on Eddie’s supposed good intentions: “Murphy was promising to do the right thing, but to date he has not done the right thing.
