Emmy Rossum looked positively refreshing in hot pink Malandrino at the 2007 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (her first TCAs).

“It felt very end of summer, very raspberry sherbert!” she said. Before pimping JustJared.com, Emmy shared about her upcoming album and her naked pool parties!

On her new album: October 23. It’s called “Inside Out” on Geffen Records. It’s extremely personal. I think there are very emotional songs that are very auto-biographical that was just piano vocal. And also there are some songs are very layered. Some songs are sexier and some are more honest, so I hope there’s something for everyone! Probably one or two of them [are dance-able]! But mostly it’s introspective music. I wanted to create it to take you away from the world as an escape from the rush of everyday life.

On how her sound is different than other artists: “It’s ambient pop. It’s really honest and sensual and fresh and the album is mostly me. It’s a lot of rich-layered vocals. 150 vocals on one track sometimes — it’s different sounding. I write for, I hope, real women. A lot of women on Top 40 are objectified. And I hope I can write for real women and show them in a way that’s honest and beautiful and sensual.”

On her touring in the near future: I just did a Rehearsals.com performance. Hopefully that’s the first thing you guys see. I’m also going to do Good Morning America and Leno towards the end of the year and then some other performances in at the beginning of next year in New York.

On her naked pool parties: “I went skinny-dipping at my fifth birthday party at a pool party that wasn’t supposed to be a naked pool party. But I didn’t know that because I didn’t like wearing clothes when I was younger. But thank God I don’t do that anymore!”

The musical debut of Emmy Rossum, ‘Inside Out‘ recently landed at #14 on iTunes’ top albums.

Actress and singer Emmy Rossum attends the Helio launch summer party of Ocean.

The launch party was intended to benefit Heal the Bay at the Sunset Tower Hotel on Wednesday in West Hollywood, California.
Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean.

Emmy Rossum, star of the 2004 film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, released her debut EP Inside Out, through Geffen Records, exclusively through iTunes last month.

Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera, Poseidon) will be releasing her debut album tomorrow on Geffen Records. Inside Out will be available exclusively through iTunes tomorrow, July 31st.

“This music is who I am,” says 20-year-old Emmy. “In the movies, I’ve always felt like one piece of the puzzle. But this is all me. It’s my baby. I get to write, direct and star. And that’s the most fulfilling thing. It’s everything I’ve always wanted to do. This music is so close to me. It’s something new… You can’t categorize it.”

Adds the Golden Globe-nominated actress, “I’ve never been more excited about anything. This album is about figuring out who I am. It’s the real Emmy Rossum. For the first time, I’m not speaking someone else’s lines. I feel the most open and able to express myself in a song. It’s scary because it’s all me.”

You can listen to her first single “Slow Me Down” and sample two of her other songs “Stay” and “Lullaby” on her MySpace. It’s very Enya-esque with a “new age” sound. Give it a whirl!
