Eric Bana continues his press tour, making an appearance at the UK Film Premiere of Star Trek at the Empire Leicester Square on Monday (April 20) in London, England.

At the premiere, the 40-year-old star talked a little bit about his character Nero. “It’s a huge thrill to be able to turn up in a movie as a villain that hasn’t been seen before. I guess it’s a sense of freedom at not being the moral center of the film, not having to worry about how the character looks - that was quite liberating. It was a lot of fun,” Eric told Empire.

British actor Simon Pegg said, “For me, tonight is very special. It’s the Empire Leicester Square. I saw films here as a child… it’s a geek dream come true.”

Eric Bana poses with his co-stars at the Star Trek Germany premiere on Thursday (April 16) in Berlin, Germany.

The 40-year-old star used to do impersonations, but quit after 10 years. “I got sick of listening to myself,” he says. “I had all the tools, but my act had stagnated and I felt dirty,” he told Details.

“All I miss about comedy is being producer, director, and writer. I miss the control,” Eric said.

Eric Bana takes the May 2009 cover of Details Magazine, hitting stands April 21.

The 40-year-old Aussie star shows his dark side in the new Star Trek movie (out May 9) and opens up about not being a star student and what really keeps him grounded.

On his wrecked car, the ‘Beast’: “It’s sitting there, not being used, but it’s still my emotional bedrock, my anchor.”

On having to repeat a year of high school (he once went to school drunk): “Yeah, I went through a little phase there. But I did a lot better than some of the guys I hung with, who have ended up dead or in jail… It wasn’t like I was busting to get into NASA or anything.”

Eric Bana and his wife Rebecca Gleeson boldy walk the red carpet for the World Premiere of JJ Abram’s Star Trek: XI at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday (April 7) in Sydney, Australia.

The 40-year-old actor stars as Nero, a Romulan villain who threatens the United Federation of Planets. More than 1600 people were inside the Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House for the world premiere of Star Trek, which premieres on May 8 in the US.

Eric recently made his directorial debut in Love The Beast, which was released in Australia last month.

Eric Bana arrives at the Love the Beast premiere held at Greater Union Cinemas in Sydney, Australia on Monday (March 9).

The documentary film is directed by Bana, and stars Bana, late-night talk show host Jay Leno, British journalist Jeremy Clarkson and TV personality Dr. Phil McGraw.

Eric Bana supports Youth Off The Streets CEO Father Chris Riley launch his new magazine Teenmatters in Sydney Australia on Wednesday.

Teenmatters is a quarterly publication dedicated to helping parents of teenagers by providing effective tools and skills to enable and empower parents to better relate to their teenagers. The magazine will also have information about the reality and extent of issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, sexual abuse and depression.

Bana, 40, will be honored at Australia Week 2009, a festival from January 13 -24, 2009, with the Excellence in Film Award.
