The 34-year-old actress paired her cowl-neck Bill Blass dress with Lightning Bolt stilettos from Dsquared2. She accessorized her look with a Jimmy Choo “Tube” satin clutch.

Eva plays an adulterer in The Women but says that infidelity isn’t so simple. She explains to Extra!, “It depends on the situation. It’s all circumstantial….I’m not the first to say, ‘If your man cheats, you must leave him.’ I think relationships go through things and I think if you have a strong foundation and you’re going through a rough patch, leaving isn’t always the thing to do.”

Eva Mendes launches the official party for ACP Magazines’ “30 Days of Fashion and Beauty” at the Regent Theatre on Tuesday in Melbourne, Australia.

The party officially launches the magazine house’s month long calendar of fashion and beauty events. Eva, 34, was joined by Australian model Lara Bingle to help promote the event.

This coming December, Eva can be seen in Frank Miller’s The Spirit, a film adaptation based on the newspaper strip of the same name.

Eva appears on the cover of the September issue of Marie Claire magazine.

After a string of sexy roles in movies for dudes, Eva Mendes is tapping her inner girl’s girl.

In the September issue of Marie Claire (on newsstands August 12th), Eva talks about everything from growing up in a conservation-minded, working class family to which women she admires in Hollywood to her rehab stint.

On women’s strained friendships with each other: “I don’t understand women who don’t like being with the girls. They say they’d rather be with the guys all the time? That it’s just so much easier? I’m calling bulls— on that.”

On Annette Bening being a true role model: “She reminds me of one of those women back in the ‘40s and ‘50s. She’s a broad, and I want to be a broad. I mean, she’s like Ava Gardner or Bette Davis or Katherine Hepburn. Those women were broads. They said it like it was.”

On her life growing up: “I was raised by parents who didn’t have much. We didn’t use whole pieces of paper towel. We shared, or used rags. Mom didn’t even want us flushing all the time.”

On believing the public doesn’t need to know everything about where she lives and how long she’s been with her boyfriend: “Think about what this whole culture of celebrity has done to movie stars. It’s made them extinct. Actors used to carry films because people would have to actually go to the movies to see them. It was the only place. But now there’s none of that mystique, and so there’s less of a reason to buy a ticket.”

Eva Mendes returns to her hotel after a day of shopping in New York City on Tuesday.

Eva attended the Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday.

Eva, 34, will join Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley in Jonathan Jakubowicz’s drug-trafficking drama Queen of the South.

The film is about a Mexican woman turned Spanish drug lord (Eva) out to avenge her boyfriend’s murder. Hartnett plays a Marine who gets involved in her business, and Kingsley plays a Russian businessman.

“He doesn’t have a lot of experience and I heard he’s a little weird,” Eva said of Frank Miller. “Well, let me tell you, he’s really weird. But if he could direct me in every one of my movies, I’d be happy.”

Filming began in October 2007, with release scheduled for January 2009.

Eva Mendes is the new face for Calvin Klein Underwear, reports WWD.

When asked if the image of Eva’s two visits to rehab in February at the Utah-based Cirque Clinic, Tom Murry, president and chief operating officer of Calvin Klein Inc., said, “No, it has not. We were already in one [fragrance] campaign when it [rehab] occurred and it did not affect our decision-making for the underwear campaign.”

“She really embodies the essence of the Calvin Klein brand and we look forward to seeing that carried through in the creative,” added Murry. “We are trying to get across that these new products are for fuller busted, shaplier kinds of women and when we looked at the talent, Eva was right.”

Eva said in a statement, “The company has such an incredible creative legacy. I’m honored to be associated with such an iconic, world-class brand like Calvin Klein.”

Looking perkier than ever, recently rehab-ed Eva Mendes prepares to depart from LAX airport in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
