Live! made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival and will open in France on Jan. 23. It’s a mockumentary following an ambitious TV network executive trying to produce a controversial reality show where contestants play Russian Roulette.

Eva Mendes is the latest PETA pin-up girl to star in the “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad campaign. The 33-year-old actress’s naked anti-fur ad is currently (and proudly) displayed in Rockefeller Plaza of New York City. Here’s some insight on Eva’s PETA campaign:

What drew you to the idea of working with PETA on our “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” Campaign? I wasn’t familiar with PETA early in my career. I remember having my first premiere in New York City and being so naive that I didn’t have a coat with me. My stylist sent me a fur wrap for the evening and I ignorantly wore it. PETA then wrote me a beautiful letter commenting on my less-than-educated choice. I was so impressed that I vowed to them and myself to never wear real fur on the red carpet or in my life again.

What issue involving animals is dearest to your heart? Also, you have a lot of fans out there which gives you a powerful platform to reach people and make a difference: What is your message to them about having compassion and getting active to help animals? I’d say the closest animal rights issue to me right now is being anti-fur. I feel like in recent years, due to pop culture, fur has made a comeback. Some people still see wearing fur as glamorous and a sign of prosperity. Personally I think wearing a baby chinchilla says, “I’m ignorant,” vs. saying “I’m a badass.” I don’t think you can force people to change their attitudes, but you can help to educate them and to lead by example. … There are way too many amazing faux fur options out there for people to still be wearing real fur. I want people to know that there are options; that killing a poor animal and wearing it isn’t cool. But respecting all life forms is cool. Very cool.

Eva Mendes (in Dolce & Gabbana) blooms in her bold yellow gown at the planned mega launch of the Campari Calendar 2008 at Superstudio on Tuesday in Milan, Italy.

The gorgeous Eva Mendes graces the pages of the 2008 Campari calendar, in a range of shots that explore fairytales and fantasies as captured by Italian photographer Marino Parisotto. The 2008 Campari calendar has a limited print run of 9,999 copies, which will be distributed internationally.

“The Campari* Calendar has been a truly unique experience,” said Eva, 32. “I had never posed for a calendar before and I was thrilled that Campari has given me the opportunity to interpret these wonderful stories… who wouldn’t want to live a fairytale even if for a short while?”

The 12 fairytales include: Little Red Riding Hood, Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Puss in Boots, Cinderella, Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty & The Beast, Pinocchio, The Little Match Girl, and Sleeping Beauty. Can you match these up with the calendar shots?

Dress designers include: Max Chaoul, Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti and Elie Saab.

Ellen adopted Iggy on Sept. 20, but when things didn’t work out she gave the dog to her hairdresser- a violation of an agreement with the rescue agency. The agency sent a representative to the hairdresser’s home Sunday and took the dog away. Ellen admitted that she didn’t read all the paperwork involving the adoption. Ellen cries as she talks about the misunderstanding on her taped show today.

Later in the evening, Eva, 33, attended the New York premiere of We Own the Night dressed in a beautiful white Valentino gown at the Chelsea West Theater. In the film, the 33-year-old actress plays Amada Juarez, a Puerto Rican woman who helps him navigate the difficult relationship with his brother (Mark Wahlberg) and father (Robert Duvall), both police officers.

Actress Eva Mendes arrives to the 2007 Hollywood Foreign Press Association Luncheon, posing briefly and showing off her svelte figure.

In an interview with Jane Magazine, Eva said “I’m thankful that I’m healthy and that I have my limbs and a nice physique…Of course, there are things anybody wishes they didn’t have or wishes [there] were more of, but why even bring that up? I think it comes off as bratty.”
