Ewan McGregor was an unlikely shopper at Fred Segal Fun at Village at the Yard in Park City, Utah during the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

The 37-year-old Scottish stud snagged K-Swiss shoes and Spyder ski jackets. He admitted to not being the active guy everyone makes him out to be, though.

“I did that thing on the motorcycle and people think I’m also a great skier or mountain climber. I’m really just average at most sports”, he said.

Ewan also stopped by the Spongebob Squarepants gifting suite. He signed a surfboard, which will be auctioned off for charity and picked up a few goodies for his kids.

Mr. McGregor and costar Jim Carrey have been in town for their new film, I Love You, Phillip Morris, which premiered on Sunday.

While here, Ewan also picked the Ray-Ban Visionary Award. He said, “I think it’s for people who worked in independent film and encouraged others to do so — so, that would be me.”

Ewan McGregor hypes up his new reality TV show, Long Way Down, during the FOX Reality Channel 2008 Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday in Beverly Hills, Calif.

In Long Way Down, the 37-year-old actor and his pal Charley Boorman ride motorcycles from Scotland to South Africa to raise money for charity. The travel adventure show will premiere on the Fox Reality Channel on Saturday, August 2nd.

At the event, Fox Reality served shortbread cookies as a nod to Ewan’s Scottish heritage.

Hilary Swank and costar Ewan McGregor are spotted on the set of their new movie, Amelia, at the historic event space Carlu in Toronto, Canada on Sunday.

Swank plays the title character, the legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world. McGregor plays author Gore Vidal’s father, the great love of Amelia’s life. Richard Gere (not pictured) plays Amelia’s husband, George Putnam. Virginia Madsen plays the ex-wife of Putnam.

Ewan McGregor is “fine” after having several cancerous moles removed from just below his right eye, reports the BBC.

“I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed, and indeed he was correct,” Ewan, 37, said. “[The surgery was] not that big of a deal.”

When asked if he found the experience frightening he said, sarcastically: “It was great fun having skin cancer, it was great, I really enjoyed it.”

Mr. McGregor can next be seen in Deception, which opens in theaters this Friday, April 25.

The best buddies arrived at the end of their Long Way Down trip, which took them three months to complete and took them through 18 countries on two continents. Their journey was all videotaped and will be made into a UK TV series. In 2004, they conducted a similar trip, called Long Way Round which saw them travel from London to New York.

Ewan said at the end of road, “The Long Way Down has been an amazing journey and it has been a real privilege to be able to experience these diverse and beautiful places. We’ve had the opportunity to see such different ways of life to ours and have traveled to remote places very few people have access to.”

Ewan McGregor and actor pal Charlie Boorman film scenes for the Long Way Down Motorcycle Tour on Saturday in Rome, Italy.

The motorbike adventure is a follow-up UK TV series to the Long Way Round trip in 2004, where the pair rode their motorbikes from London to New York via Europe, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Canada and the United States. Ewan, 36, and Charlie, 40, will be traveling from North Scotland to Cape Town, South Africa, which is a 15,000 mile trip trough 20 countries.

Australia underwear company AussieBum also recently rescinded apologized to the Scottish actor about purchasing a huge order of Wonderjocks, described as a wonderbra for men.

Ewan’s publicist said, “AussieBum has written an apology to us over it, it is not true at all. He’s a fan of the brand generally and has bought several different items from the range, but certainly not the Wonderjock. Given his reputation, we doubt very much there would be a need for this.”

Ewan McGregor earns millions making movies but has settled for earning minimum wage to perform Shakespeare on stage in London.

The 36-year-old star will earn a mere $790/week — standard minimum wage for actors in Britain — playing Shakespeare’s arch villain Iago in Othello, opening Dec. 4th.

That’s minimum wage? With a 40-hour work week… minimum wage is $20/hour, which isn’t so bad.

Hugh Jackman continues to film scenes on the streets of Madrid, Spain for his new film, The Tourist. Today, he was accompanied by co-stars Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams. Together, they shot around the capital’s best known locations such as La Plaza Mayor, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Paseo del Prado.
