Nigel Barker & Wife Cristen Chin

America’s sexiest reality TV judge Nigel Barker from America’s Next Top Model was spotted in New York City over the July 4th weekend. "Noted fashion photographer"  Nigel was with his wife Cristen Chin and son, Jack Barker (according to IMDB).  Nigel and Cristen, both formerly of Q Model Management, have been married for five years. More pictures of Nigel, wife Cristen, and son Jack after in the gallery!

UPDATE :: Q Model Management dropped a line saying that Cristen Chin is still very much a model with them!

Two Models Marry in Style

By Eri Kim

Fashion Wire Daily NY - March 9, 2001 - Model couple Cristen Chin, 26, and Nigel Barker, 28, - both with Q Model Management - met six and a half years ago through Barker’s friend and agent in Milan. And while his paramour was only a teenager, Barker knew immediately he had met the woman of his life. But it took him two months to convince Chin that he "was worthy" before she agreed to become his girlfriend. To prove just how serious he was, Barker moved from his native England to Paris, where Chin was living, and when she decided to move to New York, he followed her again. After three years as an item, Chin — who has recently been seen in Glamour, Cosmopolitan and French Vogue — finally started to think about marriage.

"It took me a bit longer than him before I knew that I’d marry him, but I figured he followed me enough around the world," Chin says, laughing.

When the wedding date (October 16th) and place had finally been set, the couple had to deal with the reality of organizing a destination wedding.

"All her life she wanted to marry in Fairhope, in Alabama where she’s from, and we had 90 people flying in from all over the world. 70 of them stayed with us a whole week," says Barker. "45 friends and family members of mine came from England, altogether we had 190 guests, so it was a fairly big wedding.

" Instead of booking hotel rooms for their guests, Chin and Barker rented two houses with 16 rooms each, and each guest chipped in for the houses. But the wedding being more than a one-day affair, entertaining those who had made the effort to come was another matter. Making use of Fairhope’s location, which is right by the Gulf of Mexico, boat trips on Chin’s father’s boat were planned every day, golf tournaments were held and the bride and groom put guides of the city’s best restaurants in every guest’s room. All the worry and preparation was worth it, says Chin.

"To think all of these people are here, just for us, it was the most overwhelming feeling," says Chin. "You just feel so loved and to get all the support - it’s such a happy occasion, especially when you’re the bride."

Apart from juggling their guests’ schedules and room and board, the two, like any other couple, had to go through all the other preparations involved in a wedding. At that occasion, it was Chin who showed her skills for organization.

"The best thing to do is to have a filing system for everything," Chin advises. "In hindsight, I would have hired [a wedding planner] but I didn’t think of it then. I’d rip out pictures I liked, looked for new ideas and also talking people who had gone through it before was really helpful."

To make things easier for their friends scattered around the globe, the couple registered in London and New York. "That was fun," Chin remembers. "Here, we registered with Bloomingdale’s — after looking at different places, it was the easiest and had the most variety."

The one thing that put Chin at an advantage was her job. "I’d done bridal shoots before, so I knew exactly the dress I wanted," she says about her silk taffeta strapless gown with a "puffy skirt" from Po Couture. And a friend from London who is also a make-up artist did the bride’s and bridesmaids’ makeup. "The hairdresser was from town, and because it was Alabama it wasn’t expensive," Chin explains. "But it was nice for all the girls to get the hair and makeup done."

When it comes to photographers, Chin advises hanging out with the snapper before the wedding. "Even if it’s just meeting for a drink — it’s better than to meet them on the big day for the first time, when everything is crazy."

Looking back at the wedding held at outside the southern style, brick and wood Grand Hotel, at sunset overlooking the water, Chin and Barker both agree they wouldn’t have done anything differently.

"It was certainly the best day of my life," says Barker. But proving just how much effort a wedding takes, Chin admits she still has dreams about it. Laughingly she says: "It feels like a loss because you put so much planning into it — I sometimes dream it hasn’t happened yet."

Madonna for H&M Pictures

It was announced not too long ago that Madonna would be shilling for international clothing brand H&M.  Well, here are the first publicity shots for Madonna and her 150 person crew.  More pictures in the gallery, full press release after the jump!

Madonna for H&M

Madonna and her entire 150 person crew for the Confessions World Tour each found clothes that reflect their own individual styles while shopping at H&M. The international fashion retailer agreed to provide a complete wardrobe for Madonna and her "touring family" as part of a long term agreement that includes an upcoming advertising campaign between H&M and the Material Girl.

With H&M and their world famous designers specializing in clothes for all family members, it seemed an ideal combination for the musicians, dancers, makeup artists, management and crew members of Team Madonna to have the opportunity to find exactly what they needed once they got offstage. The entire team was given the chance to choose from H&M’s latest collection which included Victorian romantics, British classics and couture inspired pieces

In addition, Madonna worked with H&M designers to create a unique track suit to wear while she’s on the road. The tracksuit comes in black, white and purple. The top (€29.90) is narrow and feminine with a yoke and gathering and the trousers (€19.90) are fitted at the top with wide legs and detailed with zippers. "We are pleased to be able to offer this track suit to our customers by mid-August" stated H&M’s head of design, Margareta van den Bosch.

In H&M’s upcoming advertising campaign, the dancer Sophia chose a black shiny nylon jacket with metallic press buttons teamed with loose fit jeans. Fellow dancer Cloud wore a striped and grey melange T-shirt with jeans and a matching hat. Madonna’s very chic makeup artist Gina Brooke wore a black pencil skirt with a matching couture style blouse and sky high heels. Dave the Rigger chose a plain T-shirt and &denim jeans and tour production manager Chris chose a checked cotton shirt to his &denim jeans. Madonna’s manager Angela Becker selected a silk camisole and black slacks under a grey melange wool vest.

H&M’s autumn collection is built around four trends: mix and match for a complete look. Retro couture inspiration - chic, coordinated, romanticism with reference from the turn of the century, Classics of the classics - British style tailoring and knitwear updated in unexpected materials and color combinations, 1980’s music scene - sleek rock style.

Kate Moss Fashion

Chanel has selected Pride & Prejudice star Keira Knightley as the new face of its Coco Mademoiselle fragrance. The 21-year-old actress will appear in Chanel ads beginning in 2007, the company announced Wednesday. Knightley succeeds Kate Moss, whose contract expired last October. The 32-year-old British supermodel had starred in the Coco Mademoiselle ads since 2002. Moss lost several high-profile modeling contracts last year after a tabloid published pictures of her allegedly using cocaine in a west London music studio.

Oh well!  At least Kate Moss still dresses well!  Here she is out and about earlier this week, keeping her wardrobe to all whites, blacks and greys… and rocking it! To the left, Kate Moss leaves Relic in Notting Hill. More pictures in the gallery!

Dsquared Spring Summer 2006

And the Dsquared spring collection, a nostalgic cowboy roundup (complete with leather aprons for shoeing your horse), has been one of the season’s best sellers at stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. "The cowboy is the guy version of blonde," says Dan Caten, a designer of the line. "It’s a classic icon of manliness. All guys relate to it."

Looking to reinvest the cowboy look, here’s the Spring/Summer 2006 advertising campaign for DsquaredBrokeback Mountain really started something, eh?  Many more pictures in the gallery!

Naomi Campbell Pirelli

Supermodels Tyson Beckford and Naomi Campbell (both 35) look hot as ever in the new selective coloring (because it’s the clothes that draw your attention) advertising campaign for P Zero, tiremaker (Did you even notice the tires they’re modeling in?) Pirelli’s industrial design project for clothing. The P Zero Pirelli Spring/Summer 2006 collection should be rolling out in the coming months.  Many more pictures in the gallery, some of which are kind of NSFW.

Nicole Linkletter Elle

Talk about milestones: Recent America’s Next Top Model winner Nicole Linketter’s first trip to France coincided with her first shoot for ELLE and also her first time wearing couture.  Hardly one to let a few successes go to her head, Linkletter, 20, took breaks from the ELLE photo session to go be a small-town girl seeing the sights of Paris: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre — "all the touristy stuff," as she puts it.  Back on the set, she loved trying on the beautiful couture clothing, especially Chanel’s pale pink gwn and Dior Haute Couture by John Galliano’s outrageous pantsuit. ¶  The North Fork, North Dakota, native has been on the fast track ever since waiting in line outside the Mall of America for "hours" last April to try out for America’s Next Top Model.  She made the show and had a wonderful time on it, although she wishes more people would understand that "reality television is not reality."  For instance, she admits that hte drama gets amped up by the video cameras, like when she had a fight with her younger sister on the telephone.  There’s clearly something about relaity TV that makes people more emotional, though she wouldn’t define it as acting per se.  "You are still yourself," she says, "but you’re in a situation you would never be in in actual life."  ¶  Having survived living in a house with 12 other aspiriing models and "being videotaped even when sleeping," Linkletter is now ready to concentrate on her career.  In the future, the buddind star hopes to have the oportunity to be like one of her industry heroes, Tyra Banks — who she describes as "not just a model, but a role model."  We wish her all the luck.

Here is America’s Next Top Model :: Cycle 5 winner Nicole Linkletter in her winning ELLE magazine photo shoot from the April 2006 issue.  My two favorite outfits (pictured above) are the Christian Lacroix Haute Couture paillette-embroidered tulle and chiffon gown and the Dior Haute Couture embroidered linen jacket, hand-painted leather trousers by John Galliano. Kirsten Dunst Erin Fetherston

US designer Erin Fetherston will show a short film, starring her friend Kirsten Dunst, to unveil her newest creations during Paris Fashion Week. "It’s a little hectic right now with Spider-Man 3," says Dunst, who made the film with the help of Ellen Von Unwerth and Fetherston’s fiancé, Hedi Ferjani. "But I said, ‘I’m doing this for my friend and you can’t stop me.’ I know with Ellen doing it, it will turn out really cool."

Here are some pictures of actress Kirsten Dunst, 23, at a video shoot for designer Erin Fetherston.  The 25-minute black & white short film was shot in Los Angeles and screened at a cocktail party on the wall of Fetherston’s friend’s private home last week. More pictures in the gallery!
