Check out this first look of Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton in Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters!

Here’s the synopsis for the film, out March 2: “Fifteen years after their traumatic gingerbread-house incident, siblings Hansel and Gretel have become a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world.”

EW got the sneak peek and also chatted with Gemma who described the flick as “very, very dark … [with] a [Quentin] Tarantino feel.”

“You see a series of flashbacks with their experience of killing that first witch, which is brilliant,” the 25-year-old actress teased.

“I remember being on set for the final few days of that. The candy house, and the witches are really repulsive and quite frightening,” she added. “The makeup is out of this world. It’s this bone-chilling scene.”

Emily Browning and boyfriend Max Irons attend the Gucci Museo opening on Monday (September 26) in Florence, Italy.

The 22-year-old Aussie actress wore a black and white polka dot blouse with black shorts, matching suede heels, and a handbag all by the Italian fashion house, while Max, 25, donned its “Marseille” peak label two button suit.

Gemma Arterton attends the G-Star Raw UK Night Party held at One Mayfair on Thursday (January 13) in London, England.

The 25-year-old British actress is now the face of G-Star’s new Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign, as captured by Anton Corbijn.

“I’ve always loved the G-Star campaigns and am really, really thrilled to work with the brand,” she told US Weekly. “The brand is ultra-modern, cool and quite unusual. It’s very different to any jean brand. It’s very edgy, raw and fresh.”

Gemma Arterton is the face of G-Star’s new Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign, as captured by Anton Corbijn.

“I feel like a tough girl in a fancy frock sometimes, and I think G-Star is the same,” the British actress shared. “I like the contradiction between glamour and durability. Sometimes people are shocked when they meet me because of this contradiction.”

Gemma, who just turned 25 yesterday, will next star alongside Jeremy Renner in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Production is set to begin in Berlin on March 7.

British actress Gemma Arterton was recently named TotalFilm‘s Hottest Actress.


“Thank you so much for this award,” she said. “I’m very flattered – I saw the shortlist, so I know I was in very good company. I’m absolutely thrilled. This year’s been intense, but next year’s going to be… intenser! (laughs) I’m attached to about nine projects but I’m not sure which ones I’m allowed to talk about.

Gemma continued, “But I’m aiming for even more diversity. Capa [biopic about the combat photographer Robert Capa] is confirmed, so I should be working with your hottest actor, Andy Garfield! [Garfield is lined up to play Capa, Arterton plays his partner, Gerda Taro, the first female photojournalist to cover the front lines of a war].”

We can’t wait to see Andrew and Gemma on the silver screen together!

Gemma Arterton and her fellow British co-star Dominic Cooper attend a Appleton Estate Rum-sponsored after-party for their new movie, Tamara Drewe, at NYC’s Crosby Street Hotel on Monday (September 27).

The night before, Gemma, 24, and Dominic, 32, greeted each other with a friendly kiss in the courtyard of The Greenwich Hotel. “Dominic wrapped a scarf around Gemma‘s neck, pulled her in, and greeted her with a kiss,” a spywitness tells JustJared.com exclusively. “They looked really sweet together.”

Gemma married sales manager Stefano Catelli this past June.

The aforementioned source adds, “After Gemma left, Dominic goofed around with co-star Luke Evans.”

Who else was seen canoodling at a corner table at the same time? Ryan Seacrest and girlfriend Julianne Hough! “They shared a bowl of pasta and held hands,” the same source notes. “Ryan wrapped his arm around Julianne as they left.”

FYI: Dominic was last romantically linked to his other co-star, Amanda Seyfried. They both starred in 2008′s Mamma Mia!.
