Gerard Butler hams it up for photogs at the premiere of his latest romance comedy P.S. I Love You held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Here’s some video footage of the 38-year-old Scottish stud and his costar Hilary Swank arriving on the red carpet here. Mr. Butler also took the time to pose for pictures with fans and sign autographs…

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who accompanied Mary Louise Parker on the red carpet, apparently grabbed Gerard’s bottom.

Gerard told People that he liked it!

“Jeffrey Dean Morgan rubbing my ass,” he said. “Yeah that’s about as good as it gets!”

Gerard plays scientist dad Jack, Breslin is his plucky daughter Nim and Foster plays a reclusive San Francisco author. Here are some snippets of Gerard’s interview with USA Today:

On his character researching plankton while keeping pesky pelicans at bay: “One time, I was sitting, talking to a pelican, and he goes behind me and flaps his wings,” he says. “I looked like an angel on camera. I was sure he was going to nip me or rip my ear off.”

On his secondary role as the imaginary literary alter ego of Foster’s character: “When Nim reads a book about Alex Rover, suddenly I’m in an Arabian desert with evil captors, or I’m being tied up by African tribesmen. (He uses an American accent for Jack and his Scottish burr for Alex.)

On spending time with the young Oscar nominee: “Nim and her dad are best buddies. I don’t think I could have done it as well with someone who didn’t have Abigail’s special talents. I learned a lot from her, how she would embrace an idea and go for it.”

On going nearly bankrupt after Breslin embraced the idea of a “swear pot”: “Me being from Scotland, I have a bit of a foul mouth. She fined me $2 each time. If I gave her extra, she would forget and not count it. It was hard to argue with her.”

Gerard Butler arrives at the 17th Annual Environmental Media Awards held at the Ebell Club of Los Angeles on Wednesday. The Scottish stud was sandwiched between Warner Bros. Entertainment president and chief operating officer Alan F. Horn and his daughter Cody Horn.

The Environmental Media Association is honoring actress/producer Trudie Styler, Sting’s wife and a longtime champion of human rights. Sienna Miller is also being honored.

Scottish stud Gerard Butler introduces a band during the Live Earth London concert, at Wembley Stadium on Saturday in London, England.

Live Earth is a 24-hour, 7-continent concert series taking place on 7/7/07, bringing together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.

The 300 star has been busy filming the Guy Ritchie-directed film RocknRolla. Gerard stars as a One Two, a street-smart mobster who has learned to play both sides of the fence.

And is it just me or did Gerry grow a massive birth mark on his left earlobe overnight? He didn’t have this mysterious marking on his ear a month ago! See Gerry at the MTV Movie Awards last month.

Gerard Butler, aka King Leonidas in 300, takes to the skies and departs from LAX airport on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The Scottish stud was recognized by fans while waiting on the security line. Friendly as always, he took the time to greet them before passing through the metal detectors.

The Scots hunk is nominated for 3 MTV Movie Awards this year — Best Movie (300), Best Performance (King Leonidis) and best fight (Gerard vs. “The Uber Immortal” a.k.a. The Spartan/Persian Battle).

Co-star Rodrigo Santoro is also nominated for Best Villian for his role as King Xerxes and co-star Lena Headey for Breakthrough Performance as Queen Gorgo.
