Gerard Butler participates in the “Giant Steps For 9/11″ walk from the George Washington Bridge to Giants Stadium on Sunday (September 13) in New York City.

The 38-year-old Scottish stud and his Bounty co-star Jennifer Aniston joined friends for a group dinner at Cliff’s Edge restaurant in L.A.’s trendy Silver Lake neighborhood on Sept. 9.

“Jen and Gerard had dinner with friends and they all seemed to enjoy themselves,” a source tells People. “[Aniston] hugged all the diners in the group and was certainly not spending any special time on Gerard. Gerard kept the group entertained with stories and they all shared many laughs. It was not a romantic date, nor did they kiss. They didn’t even sit next to each other.”

Before hitting up Crown Bar, Gerard Butler makes an appearance at Live with Jimmy Kimmel in Los Angeles on Friday (September 4) to promote his new action flick Gamer (in theaters NOW).

The 39-year-old Scottish stud shared that after he graduated law school, he became a traveling carnie (slang term for a carnival employee). Gerry was responsible for the Wacky Wire booth, a game where you have to twist a metal ring around metal coils without having them touch each other. Jimmy had Gerry play the game and tried to distract him by asking him if he was dating Jennifer Aniston. Hilarious! Watch below –

Jen, 40, and Gerry, 39, were reportedly seen holding hands over the weekend but Jen’s rep has denied it ever happened. “Jennifer was out with many others from the film and they were not holding hands,” says Stephen Huvane. “Gerry was one of many from the film there.”

The movie centers on bounty hunter Milo (Butler) hired to retrieve ex-wife Cassidy Daley (Aniston), who has skipped bail.

Off-screen, Jennifer and Gerard were recently spotted holding hands at The Jane Hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.
