Rachel Nichols as GI Joe’s Scarlett — FIRST LOOK

Via Wiki: “The official line on Scarlett is that her full name is Shana M. O’Hara. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Although she is as adept with standard weapons as any of her comrades, her weapon of choice is the crossbow which fires various bolts with specialized functions. Her rank is Master Sergeant, and she serves from time to time as team leader. Her primary specialty for the team is counter intelligence and is additionally skilled in martial arts and acrobatics. Of note, her secondary military specialty remains classified in all of her file cards.”

Dennis Quaid Joins GI Joe Movie

Yo, Joe!

Dennis Quaid has joined the cast of GI Joe: The Movie, according to Variety.

The 53-year-old actor will be playing General Hawk, the commander of the G.I. Joe team. Yesterday, it was announced that Channing Tatum will be playing Duke, a field commander and second-in-command of the G.I. Joe Team after Hawk.

Arnold Vosloo also has signed on to play Zartan, a mercenary who works with Destro and Cobra. GI Joe: The Movie rolls into theaters on August 7, 2009. Shooting begins next month in Los Angeles.

Channing Tatum Joins ‘GI Joe’ Movie

Channing Tatum has joined the cast of G.I. Joe: The Movie, according to AICN.

The 27-year-old modern-turned-actor will play Duke, a field commander and second-in-command of the G.I. Joe Team after Hawk. Channing has starred in films such as Coach Carter, Step Up and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints

Other actors signed on: Sienna Miller as The Baroness, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaj (Lost) as Heavy Duty, Rachel Nichols (Alias) as Shana ‘Scarlett’ O’Hara and Marlon Wayans as Ripcord. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock From the Sun) is also in negotiations to join the project.

G.I. Joe: The Movie rolls out into theaters Aug. 7, 2009. Filming begins mid-February!
