And what a better way to celebrate Lauren’s birthday!

Us Weekly favorite Heidi Montag just released her Spencer Pratt-produced single, “Higher.”

“The past is the past and you don’t have one moment to look back,” Heidi says of her new single. “You create your life and what happens. I wanted to portray this message and energy in my song and hopefully give people the same feeling. My album is about living life every moment and having fun.”

Conveniently, Lauren Conrad’s rival Heidi Montag and fiance Spencer Pratt attended the L.A. premiere of Paramount’s Cloverfield held at the Paramount Studios Lot on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Yes, fiance. The wedding is apparently back on–Heidi was seen wearing her engagement ring again!

When asked if they wouldn’t mind crossing paths with Lindsay Lohan, Heidi told USA Today, “I would love to meet Lindsay!”

Spencer happily added he’d love to “share a bottle of water with her.”

Now that the wedding’s on hold, Spencer has to prove he’s really husband material

It was a typical Heidi–Spencer moment as the duo spent Jan. 9 in Los Cabos, Mexico, holding hands and frolicking in front of the cameras. But this wasn’t a trip to scout out wedding spots — or even a sign that their wedding is back on.

In fact, the Hills couple’s engagement and nuptials are still on hold, and their Mexican sojourn didn’t exactly end well. “I’ve been throwing up all night,” Heidi said once she was back in LA. “I just got back from Mexico. I don’t know what I have; I don’t know if it’s food poisoning. I’m just so sick.”

But insiders wonder if it was a stomach bug — or if Heidi’s sickness was really caused by stress over ongoing relationship drama with Spencer. “The wedding planning really broke up the engagement,” an insider says. “Heidi isn’t convinced Spencer understands the meaning of a lifelong commitment.”

The Hills is a “scripted” reality show. Let’s settle this: How real is it? The Hills is a show that’s 22 minutes long about seven people’s lives. It’s edited for drama, and there are editors and story lines. If someone walks in front of the camera, we have to redo the shot. So it’s not exactly how things always are. It’s not like The Truman Show. They’re not with us all the time, although I wish they were, because it would be a way crazier show. Let’s see how Lauren would look then!

Meow! So are you and L.C. friends at all? She’s changed. Some people go more Hollywood than others. We’re from different backgrounds. She grew up in that spoiled Laguna world, and I grew up with humble beginnings. She’s very controlling. She was crazy about how much time I spent with Spencer, and I had to see her every day. I’ve heard from other people that she’s a big diva now. “Insiders” say.

I know at least i am going to try as hard as possible even when people don’t deserve kindness…i am still going to give them kindness! Also people should try not to judge other people in 2008! …[I vow] to stay way more in-touch with my MySpace friends that are so loving and supportive. I will be trying to answer all my messages this year and respond to all questions!”

On top of a new nose and breast augmentation from earlier this year, did The Hills star Heidi Montag also get a pair of new lips??

The 21-year-old aspiring singer reportedly had a lip enhancement procedure completed on Friday. Heidi showed off her new lips while out on-and-off-again fiance Spencer Pratt on Saturday.

The couple met up with She-Pratt (Spencer’s sister Stephanie) for sushi at Katsuya in Brentwood, Calif.

The Hills couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt sat down with Us Weekly to explain why their engagement ended, that they’re still together – but have no plans to get married.

Heidi on their current relationship: “We’re just going back to being boyfriend and girlfriend…” (Spencer interjects) “…when our relationship was flawless.”

Heidi on her engagement ring: “I turned it into a pendant. It wasn’t my dream ring. I don’t like what it represents. I might sell it.”

Heidi on Lauren Conrad possibly laughing at them: “It would be really sad if she did, but her opinions don’t affect me at all. She’s not a part of my life anymore.”

Spencer on how sorry he is: “I need to accept that Heidi wants her princess wedding and that she is the boss.”

Heidi on not giving up: “I have a high tolerance for pain. I’ve lived with Spencer.”

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of The Hills infamy leave trendy restaurant Koi on Monday in West Hollywood and run into a group of fans.

The Hills have been under some heat after co-star Lauren Conrad spoke with Entertainment Weekly and admitted that certain scenes are re-enacted. (As if we didn’t know!) Read the whole interview here.

Does it ever annoy you how meticulous people have gotten when watching The Hills? Take, for example, what everyone is referring to as ”nail polish-gate” — one scene showed you wearing red nail polish, but then in a scene that was presented as happening a little later that same night, the polish was gone. What happened there?

The Hills is filmed exactly the same as Laguna. So when people started picking out these very little things, it was weird to me because anyone who has worked on a reality show knows how they’re filmed. We’re not filming The Truman Show, we don’t have cameras set up all around our apartment, and they’re not with us 24/7. Basically what they’re doing is taking our lives and telling a story. For example, the night [of the nail-polish incident, while on a date with model Gavin], the cameras stopped rolling, and I went out to a club with [Gavin]. I went home and called someone [Brody], and the next day talked about it. [MTV] was like, Okay, well, we need to get that on tape, and since they’re trying to tell a story the right way, I basically had to go and call [Brody] again, have the exact same conversation on camera. I mean, it’s not lying to anyone, it’s telling what really happened, but it’s just the way they film reality shows.
