Henry Cavill makes a surprise visit at Edwards Air Force Base on Tuesday (January 31) in California.

The 28-year-old Man of Steel star signed autographs and posed for pics inside the Joshua Tree Dining Facility, which was packed with more than 100 Edwards Airmen.

“I have such great respect for military members and what they do. It’s important that they know how valuable their service is. It is a pleasure to tell them how much they’re appreciated,” Henry said.

“It was great that [Henry] took the time out of his busy schedule to do something so wonderful for the military,” said Senior Airman Lyndee Bennett, 95th Security Forces Squadron. “He was incredibly nice. It’s amazing how an event like this humanizes the actors. I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet him.”

The 28-year-old-actor will be hitting the big screen next in The Cold Light of Day.

“I was a little soft around the edges, and so you don’t feel very super when you’re wearing a Lycra suit and you’ve got a bunch of guys staring at you,” he laughed.
