Hilary Duff does a little Mother’s Day shopping on Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Hilary’s latest movie, War, Inc., is a dark political satire film starring John Cusack and Hilary Duff and directed by Joshua Seftel.

On working with John Cusack and Sir Ben Kingsley, Hilary told LA Confidential Magazine, “I’m really not shy at all, and since I’ve been working for such a long time, I’ve learned that when it’s time to not be shy, I go into autopilot or something. Being there with all of them…. They didn’t know what to expect of me and I didn’t know what to expect of them. We became such good friends. And working with John, he gives you such creative control. There was a superfun creative energy going around.”

Hilary Duff and John Cusack promote their new politically charged movie, War, Inc., in the latest of Los Angeles Confidential.

In the Joshua Seftel-directed film, The Duffster plays potty-mouthed Eastern European pop star Yonica Babiak. Here’s what Hil had to say to the mag:

Your character speaks in a ridiculous dialect. Where did that come from? The first time I talked to John, he said, “You know, you have to have an accent.” The character is an Eastern European pop star. I didn’t even know where to begin. But the fun thing is, this place doesn’t even exist. Turaqistan is not a real country. So I played around and mixed a lot of things together! I talked in that accent as much as I could, even to my family and friends!

Did you really drop a live scorpion down your pants in the movie? I really did. It was so scary. I grew up in Texas, and we had plenty of scorpions, but I never had to put one down my pants before. And my pants weren’t that baggy, so I couldn’t get any space. I did it a couple times with it going down my leg and it was terrifying. The little thing kept doing backbends because it obviously didn’t want to go in my pants, you know? Everyone on the set was cheering!

Hilary Duff continues to climb the hotness charts as she enjoys an afternoon shopping spree in the Meatpacking District neighborhood of New York City on Wednesday morning.

The Duffster, 20, dressed in a pair of short denim shorts as she picked up sunglasses at Artsee Eyewear before dropping by the Scoop boutique.

Hil’s latest movie, War Inc., opened at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this month but will be released in limited theaters on Friday, May 23.

Hilary Duff puts on her best Aladdin pants as she lands at LAX airport with hockey boyfriend Mike Comrie on Wednesday.

Hilary was teary-eyed when she first landed but once outside she was all smiles and held onto her boyfriend.

The 20-year-old singer/actress has been busy promoting for her latest film, War, Inc. She has recently made visits to MTV’s TRL and the Tribeca Film Festival to promote the film.

Hilary Duff talks about her new movie, War, Inc., during MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL) at the MTV Times Square Studios on Tuesday in New York City.

In the political war comedy, the 20-year-old singer/actress plays the character Yonica. Said The Duffster, “It was such a trip for me to do this character because it was so different from who I am and even the way I looked in it–she has an accent, she’s Eastern European, she’s a little oversexed, super young, she doesn’t know what she’s doing. And the way she dresses is really cheesy and out of control. It was fun for me to do something so different from who I am.”

John Cusack wrote, produced and starred in the film, which comes out in theaters on Friday, May 23.

Hil, 20, stepped out with boyfriend Mike Comrie and sister Haylie and did some shopping in the MePa district of New York City on Monday.

Regarding a possible role in the 90210 remake, Hilary has reportedly turned down the role because she wants to break away from the “teen” genre and expand her image. Shenae Grimes (Degrassi: The Next Generation) has been given the role.

Hilary Duff and hockey player boyfriend Mike Comrie go shopping at Scoop in the Meatpacking district on Sunday. The couple was accompanied by Hil’s big sister Haylie.

After shopping, Haylie went to a hotel while Hilary and Mike continued to walk and shop around.

Hilary, 20, has reportedly been offered a starring role in the 90210 remake. Last week it was rumored that Jennie Garth, aka Kelly Taylor of the original 90210, also would join the cast of the series.
