Hugh Jackman treats his kids Oscar, 9, and daughter Ava, 3, to some cold treats while mom Deborra Lee Furness watched on Thursday afternoon (May 21) at the West Side Park in New York City.
The 40-year-old Aussie actor hasn’t been updating his Twitter recently with good reason. Last week, Hugh tweeted, “Hey-Sorry, I have been quiet. spending much needed time with the deb and the kids.”

The 40-year-old Aussie and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness just attended the fifth annual ‘Taste of Spring’ fundraiser and helped raise over $285,000 for the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute.
Hugh told Bloomberg during the event, “We of course know a lot about the issue because we have two adopted children, and we have looked into this very, very seriously.”
Deborra-Lee also co-founded another charity called Orphan Angels which matches orphans with prospective parents.

Hugh and his Fountain costar Rachel Weisz will be teaming up again for the 19th-century drama Unbound Captives. Also joining the cast is Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson (Back in February, Hugh and Rob went karaoke-ing together in Japan). More info at Variety.
“He’s a really great actor and a really good guy,” Hugh says of Rob. “His role [in Captives] is phenomenal and it’s going to be really amazing stuff.”

Under the supervision of dad Hugh, Ava Jackman dresses up as her favorite Disney princess, Snow White, and rides a scooter around the West Village neighborhood of New York City on Monday afternoon (May 11).

Hugh will premiere his latest superhero flick, X-Men Origins: Wolverine in Mexico City on May 26. Last week, his scheduled appearance there was nixed because of swine flu concerns. The Aussie actor tweeted that the premiere should “provide a moment of fun escapism and a treat for some of the loyal fans of the comic.”

The 40-year-old Sexiest Man Alive is set to star in Ghostopolis, an upcoming graphic novel from Doug TenNapel.
According to THR, the story centers on a man who works for the government’s Supernatural Immigration Task Force. His job is to send ghosts who have escaped into our world back to Ghostopolis. When a living boy accidentally is sent to the other side, the agent must team with a female ghost (and former flame) to bring him back.

On his father and spirituality: “He takes his religion very seriously and would prefer I go to church. We’ve had discussions about our separate beliefs. I just find the evangelical church too, well, restrictive. But the School of Practical Philosophy is nonconfrontational. We believe there are many forms of Scripture. What is true is true and will never change, whether it’s in the Bible or in Shakespeare. It’s about oneness. Its basic philosophy is that if the Buddha and Krishna and Jesus were all at a dinner table together, they wouldn’t be arguing. There is an essential truth. And we are limitless.”
On the gay rumors: “I’d be happy to go and deny it, because I’m not. But by denying it, I’m saying there is something shameful about it, and there isn’t anything shameful. The questions about sexuality I find more here in America than anywhere else, because it’s a big hang-up and defines what people think about themselves and others. It’s not a big issue in Australia.”
On if he has plans to adopt more kids: “No! (pauses) Wow. That’s the first time I’ve ever said that so emphatically and on-the-record. For Deb and me, our family is the most important thing to us, but we travel so much that we fear if we have more kids, it’ll be too much
