Hugh Jackman sports a tattoo of a nude mermaid on the forearm of his right arm, but don’t be alarmed, it’s not real!

A reliable source tells JustJared.com that the tattoo is just for his Broadway play, “Steady Rain,” co-starring Daniel Craig. Hugh wears a short-sleeved shirt throughout the show, so you can see the tattoo the whole time.

“Denny (his character from the play) got the tattoo before he got married,” the source tells Just Jared.

According to Variety, the show has made $3 million in advance sales already from American Express cardmembers who took advantage of an exclusive presale before the public could even purchase tickets.

Maybe Hugh should keep the tattoo as a memento of the play’s success!

The 40-year-old Aussie actor who hosted the 81st Academy Awards in February and won an Emmy for his work recently sat down with Newsweek and lauded Neil Patrick Harris for hosting the Emmys.

“Neil Patrick Harris is going to be the new Federer,” Hugh said about Neil comparing him to top-seeded tennis champ Roger Federer. “He’s going to have the Grand Slam soon. He’s got the Tonys and Emmys and pretty soon he’ll host the Grammys and the Oscars because he’s brilliant.”

Sexiest Man Alive Hugh Jackman addresses urgency for action on climate change at the 2009 Climate Week NYCkickoff at The New York Public Library on Monday (September 21).

“I hope to be a voice for the billion people in developing countries who will be the hardest hit by changing weather patterns, by the droughts and floods that destroy their crops and threaten their food security,” Hugh said in a statement. “Climate Week NYC provides an ideal forum to help underscore the urgency for world leaders to secure and fund an ambitious global climate change deal in Copenhagen that is effective, fair and binding.”

Hugh Jackman is all smiles as he and Anna Wintour sign t-shirts during Fashion’s Night Out at Jeffrey of New York on Thursday (September 10).

The 40-year-old actor and the 59-year-old Vogue editor-in-chief autographed the tees, which are sold for $30 each to benefit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum and the New York City AIDS Fund.

Hugh is currently in previews for A Steady Rain, where he plays opposite Bond star Daniel Craig. Anna is enjoying the success of The September Issue, which chronicles the making of the magazine’s most important issue of the year.

Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig’s faces are fused together in this exclusive artwork for new play A Steady Rain.

The pair gave their first preview performance last night (September 9) for friends and family at New York City’s Gerald Schoenfeld theater. Deborra-Lee Furness was spotted cheering on her husband in the audience but Daniel’s girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell seemed to be M.I.A. After the show, Daniel and Hugh signed autographs and took pictures with fans outside the stage door.

JustJared.com was lucky enough to snag tickets to last night’s two-man show, about two Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute.

The stage was simple: two actors, two chairs, two light fixtures hanging above them, and a black backdrop. There was no trace of James Bond under Daniel’s mustache and completely convincing Chicago accent. And Hugh gave an extremely emotional performance while delivering his heart-wrenching tale. (He also delivered plenty of eye candy in his skin-tight polo. Daniel was dressed in a suit the entire time.)

Hugh Jackman attends the X-Men Origins: Wolverine premiere at Roppongi Hills on Thursday (September 3) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 40-year-old Sexiest Man Alive was seen hopping on a motorcycle and waving to his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. Wolverine will open on September 11 in Japan.

Hugh will be heading back to New York City as his new Broadway play A Steady Rain (costarring Daniel Craig) starts previews on Sept. 10.

A Steady Rain by Keith Huff, is a two-man play about two Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute in a poor neighborhood.

A Steady Rain starts previews on Sept. 10, has an official opening set for Sept. 29 and is scheduled to run through Dec. 6. Exciting!!!

Hugh was seen posing with his Seed Productions partner John Palermo and Tish Cyrus, the mother of teen sensation Miley Cyrus. Miley and Hugh are teaming up for their new movie, Personal Security.

Mr. Jackman was also seen making one photographer’s dream come true — he started dancing with her on the grass carpet!
