Paul on the success of his show: “Do I think the show would be successful as it is, if it weren’t for Twilight? No.”

Ian on working on independent movies after Lost: “I fell off the face of the f—ing planet. I thought I was being cool and edgy, and it seemed like something Johnny Depp would have done 15 years ago. Wrong. Biggest Mistake.”

Ian on his VD character Damon: “This is gonna be the coolest character on television. There was no doubt about it. It reminded me of Sawyer, Josh Holloway’s character on Lost. He was always the character I secretly wished I could play.”

Ian Somerhalder cozies up to his Vampire Diaries co-star, Katerina Graham, at the InStyle Golden Globes Party saluting young Hollywood on Tuesday (December 8) in Hollywood.

The 31-year-old actor, who plays Damon on the hit CW show, also rubbed elbows with actor James Van Der Beek (pictured inside).

Nina Dobrev gave MTV News a sneak peek of what to expect when new Vampire Diaries episodes begin in January:

“The last episode we ended on a cliffhanger,” she said. “My character gets into a extremely big car accident, she hits someone and you’re left hanging. You don’t know what’s going to happen, so we’re going to pick up right from there and you’re gong to see what happened and what happened after that.”

“And, let’s just say Elena and Damon are gonna hang out a little bit,” Nina added. Ohhhh!

Vampire Diaries and Lost hunk Ian Somerhalder talks “7 Things” with Newsweek.

The 30-year-old actor shared, “I auditioned for [Jason Stackhouse on] True Blood and couldn’t rock it to convince [creator] Alan Ball that that was my role. I didn’t get it and I was very bummed. I couldn’t watch True Blood until now because now I have my own role. But before that, I was convinced I couldn’t play a vampire because I blew the audition.”

On his ideal role: “The one I’m doing right now, actually.”

On his transition from acting to modeling: “Fashion was a ton when I was young but, not being particularly as tall as one would need to be as a model (however I did fairly well) and not particularly seeing myself doing it for any length of time beyond it being a stepping stone into film and TV. The goal was: make money as a model and sink into acting training.”

On keeping his private life private: “It’s all very simple, actually. I’ve been left alone for the most part really. It doesn’t seem that what I do off the set is of importance to anyone!”

Vampire Diaries stars Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Kayla Ewell hit up the checkboard carpet at Spike TV’s Scream Awards 2009 held at the Greek Theatre on Saturday (October 17) in Los Angeles.

Ian, Nina and Paul presented the “Best TV Show” award to the cast of True Blood. From one vampire cast to another!

On-and-off-screen couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer also each picked up “Best Horror Actor” for their respective genders.

FYI: Kayla is wearing a French Connection dress and shoes and carrying a Treesje “Penn” clutch.

The CW finally has something to cheer about. Vampire Diaries delivered breakout ratings!

Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley pulled in 4.8 million viewers, making their show CW’s most-watched series premiere ever.

America just can’t get enough of blood-sucking vampires! (FYI: True Blood’s series finale airs this Sunday @ 9PM ET/PT on HBO.)

The show is based on LJ Smith’s book series. Stefan is described as “gloriously, amazingly, epically beautiful young man” who is actually a 200-year-old vampire who has a strong connection with Elena. His brother Damon, the evil of the two, has also taken a liking to Elena.

The Vampire Diaries airs on Thursdays @ 8PM ET/PT (right before Supernatural).
