Isla Fisher (in J. Mendel) makes an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman and then hits the red carpet (in Matthew Williamson) at the premiere of Confessions of a Shopaholic at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City on Thursday (February 5).

“I sold lemonade when I first came to Los Angeles on the side of the street,” the 33-year-old actress shared about one of the ways she made a living. “Yes, we charged $2 for a glass, but we never tasted it.”

Isla shared another way she made ends meet. “I used to collect my horse’s poop and sell it (as manure) by the side of the road.”

Aussie actress Isla Fisher sports a pair of Paige Premium Denim “Wilshire” boyfriend jeans in Rebel wash as she celebrates Australia Day with a cup of joe in Los Angeles on Monday.

The 32-year-old actress is best known for her role in the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers, and is is the fiance of Sacha Baron Cohen (aka Borat).

Isla stars in the movie adaptation of the book, Confessions of a Shopaholic, which is slated for a Feb. 13 release. Hugh Dancy, Joan Cusack and John Goodman all co-star in the film.

Shopaholic star Isla Fisher takes the February 2009 cover of Allure.

The 32-year-old Aussie comedienne reveals why she’s so secretive about “Borat” and baby Olive, her wild rise to fame (which included a stint at French clown school) and why she insists on using body doubles. Here are a few highlights:

On being with British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for seven years: “We are going to get married really, really, even more so now than ever. We have been talking about it, and we have been very close, but it has been difficult to plan [something private.]”

On her family being nomadic growing up: “I attribute my ability to tap into my inner idiot to having to be such a gypsy and to adapt to new environments and new people at school. You can make friends quickly if you’re willing to take the piss out of yourself.”

The 32-year-old actress opened up in the latest issue of Allure about her upcoming nuptials. She shared, “We are going to get married, really, really, even more now than ever. We have been talking about it and we have been very close, but it has been difficult to plan. It is very important to me to have a beautiful ritual celebrated with all my family and friends, and to feel part of a community. And when you are in the public eye, to keep that private and to make it happen without it being really visible is really difficult.”

Isla also talked about converting from Methodism to Judaism: “I converted as of two years ago. It is always reported that I am still studying, so I am either the slowest studier in the world, or I have, in fact, converted.”

Ms. Fisher also has a new project coming up with former SNL fave Amy Poehler.

Isla admits she owes her slender figure to good genes: “I have never been a big fan of working out and I’ve never been a sporty person - I was always more of a book worm.
