At a later press gathering, Zhang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) said she had helped raise more than $1 million in earthquake relief at the Cannes Film Festival.

A Russian film about a teenager surprised by the sudden appearance of the father she thought to be dead won the top prize at the 2008 Shanghai International Film Festival.

The Forbidden Kingdom is about an American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics and makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King.

With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors.

The Forbidden Kingdom is directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King) and will be on Friday. This project is the first time Jet Li, 44, and Jackie Chan, 54, are working together.
