On Saturday, the 26-year-old cycling stud was spotted leaving Hollywood healthy restaurant “Ammo” with German shepherd Atticus. Upon spotting paparazzi, Jake tried to avoid the cameras by walking backwards!

A lot of celebrities are employing this “walking backwards” tactic nowadays. In recent memory? Jennifer Aniston left NYC’s Freemans restaurant on the Lower East Side last month, walking backwards to avoid paparazzi.

Jake Gyllenhaal is all suited up in Morocco on the set of his new thriller Rendition, directed by Gavin Hood. He plays CIA analyst Douglas Freeman, who is forced to question his assignment as he becomes a party to the unorthodox interrogation of El-Ibrahim.

Rendition also co-stars Jake’s brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard as well as rumored lover Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, and Alan Arkin. The release date for Rendition is set for Nov. 30.

Reese Witherspoon hops back in her car on Thursday afternoon at Los Angeles Park, remaining mum about her rumored romance with Rendition co-star Jake Gyllenhaal and her recent backing out of Bunny.

Reese was taking 3-year-old son Deacon to football training practice with some of his play pals. Reese’s Betty, visiting from Tennessee, was also present there to show little Deacon support.

OK! Magazine is has the scoop on Reese spending “quality time” in NYC with boyish charmer Jake Gyllenhaal last week.

On March 1, Reese reportedly visited Jake’s Greenwich Village penthouse for 45 minutes. And on March 2, Jake stopped by The Mandarin Oriental hotel in Midtown Manhattan to visit Reese. And spent the night! Ohhhhh boy!

Reese, 30, recently bailed out on Bunny Lake Is Missing, a film project she was going to produce and star in.

The L.A. Times reports Reese did not feel emotionally invested in the role. TMZ reports that last week, Reese was supposed to be give a complete script but instead was presented with a script with major sections of the movie outlined but not written.

The Today Show sits down with Zodiac star Jake Gyllenhaal and the character he plays in the film, cartoonist Robert Graysmith. They chat a little about the ending of the movie and recently turned up evidence that that might relate to the Zodiac case from the 1960’s.

Another one of my favorite quotes from the interview: “This year, Oscars. No Jake Gyllenhaal, no Jon Stewart. It’s like they didn’t even have the Oscars this year.”

Jon closed the interview mentioning that Jake played the kid Danny Robbins in Billy Crystal’s western movie City Slickers in 1991 (Jake was 11).

“Technically, Brokeback Mountain was not your first gay cowboy picture.”

Jake Gyllenhaal works his boyish charm as he drops by MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL) on Tuesday afternoon to chat up his later thriller movie, Zodiac.

What he is doing to his arms, or trying to be, is beyond me. Superhero Jake?

Jake, 26, was interviewed by MTV VJ Damien Fahey at the MTV Times Square Studios on in New York City.

Zodiac opens in theaters this Friday and also co-stars Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Robert Downey Jr. and Chloe Sevigny.

Jake Gyllenhaal dropped by The Late Show with David Letterman to promote his upcoming crime thriller film Zodiac (out this Friday).

Jake, 26, shared about shooting his new film Rendition during his recent trip to Morocco and the immunization shots he had to get before flying over. He joked around saying,

“I’m a little psychosomatic. I think I might get sick when I’m not. So, I got the yellow fever shot and I went home and I just felt very cold.

“And then I realized that I wasn’t really wearing many clothes. (laughs) It might have been a factor. I’m still not really sure though. I think I may have had yellow fever.”

Ha ha ha. Jake then went on to talk about the fire in the lodge that he and his family got caught in late December 2006.

While escaping from the fire, his mother, Naomi Foner, grabbed two necklaces (Jake gave her one and Jake’s big sis, Maggie, gave her the other).

And apparently his father, Stephen Gyllenhaal, grabbed… an empty suitcase. Nice one, Papa G!

And Jake just had to share — both of his parents weren’t wearing any underwear. The Gyllenhaals like to go commando!!

“We really have to save these people and get them some underwear!”
