Just last night, Mr. Reese Witherspoon and Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom dined at Japanese restaurant Ita Cho in Hollywood.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are set to star in the risque political satire Nailed, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

David O. Russell is attached to direct and co-write the screenplay with Al Gore’s daughter, Kristin Gore.

Biel, 25, would play Sammy Joyce, a socially awkward small-town receptionist who has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman, eliciting wild sexual urges. The uninsured Joyce goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured. She meets an immoral congressman (Gyllenhaal, 26) who takes advantage of her sex drive and capitalizes on her crusade as Joyce heads into her own career in politics.

Filming for Nailed has a tentative start date of January 2008.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal takes their romance public–holding hands and canoodling–while sightseeing in Rome over the weekend.

The pair arrived in Rome together via private jet, checked into their hotel and then went for a romantic stroll through Rome with their 5-person security detail (two from the U.S. and three from Italy).

Reese, 31, and Jake, 26, strolled through the Piazza di Spagna, walked up the Spanish Steps and visited the church of Trinita dei Monti.

Later, the couple stopped off at the Piazza Campo de Fiori to admire the Giordano Bruno Statue and lunched together at a small local restaurant. To top off their day together, Gyllenspoon took their PDA to the hill of Monte Mario and the Zodiaco cafe.

On Saturday, Reese and Jake’s entourage expanded with a few locals and one ordained minister acting as a guide. The group dined at Bar della Pace and went sightseeing at the Museum of Rome, the Piazza Pasquino and Piazza Navona. They also took in the Church of San Luigi Dei Francesci, which houses the famous Carvaggio painting.

To finish off their day, Reese and Jake visited the Pantheon (the oldest functioning building in Rome), where they had Italy’s famous Gelato (ice cream).

On Sunday, Reese and Jake attended the premiere of Rendition together at the Rome Film Festival. The pair actually met on the set of their new movie, which recently bombed at the box office.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted holding hands and kissing on Monday at LAX airport, according to Us Weekly.

And there are reportedly photos to prove it!

“Dressed in matching black T-shirts and jeans, Reese and Jake strolled hand-in-hand and smooched at Los Angeles International Airport October 22,” reports Us. “On October 19, Witherspoon, 31, was spotted resting her head on Gyllenhaal’s shoulder while walking through the streets as they enjoyed some downtime.”

The couple has been at the Rome Film Festival promoting their latest film Rendition.

Rendition scored a paltry 44% on Rotten Tomatoes‘ fresh meter. “The performances are surprisingly lackluster,” one reviewer has said. “Witherspoon practically sleepwalks through the whole thing, as does Gyllenhaal.”

As mentioned earlier today, Rendition ranked a horrible ninth place at the box office this weekend, pulling in $4.2 million.
