Janet Jackson arrives at the third annual Loveday celebration and Cartier Love Charity Bracelet launch held at a private residence on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The 42-year-old singer/actress posed with CEO and President of Cartier North America Frederic de Narp and longtime beau Jermaine Dupri.

Ms. Jackson is also developing a music competition reality TV Show for MTV, reports Variety. The as-yet-titled project will feature Janet as she mentors a group of aspiring singers and dancers as she prepares for her world tour, which launches on Sept. 10.

“It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher,” said exec producer Dave Broome. “And we’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.”

Don’t miss a very special Dance on Sunset tomorrow with an appearance by Janet Jackson as she reunites with choreographer Tony Testa (aka. the mystery man kissing Janet on her latest music video, “Rock With U”.)

Janet Jackson is lovely in leather as she speaks on stage during the Apollo Theater 2008 Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony on Monday in New York City.

Smokey Robinson, the 68-year-old R&B icon was inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of Gladys Knight, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald and Little Richard.

Janet Jackson announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday that after a 7-year hiatus, she’s returning to the stage for her “Rock with U” Concert Tour.

“I’m here to kick off my ‘Rock With U’ tour,” Janet shared. “Our first show is September 10. And I’ve set up a number for fans to call in and to leave what old/new songs you’d like to hear [at the concert]. The number’s 323-622-8139. Give me a call and let me know!”

The entire Ellen audience got two tickets each to Janet’s concert. SOOOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!!!!!!

Ellen also asked Janet if there’s going to be a Jackson 5 reunion. Janet was optimistic: “I hope so. I’ve been really pushing my brothers and having conference calls and working on it.”

Ms. Jackson, 41, is on a 3-day tour to promote her latest album, Discipline. This is Janet’s sixth number one album. Jackson and Madonna and now tied in the States for #1 albums for a female artist. Barbra Streisand still holds the record for eight chart toppers.

“I love Japan so much because it never bores me,” said Janet, who last visited Japan in October 2006. “I want to visit KiddyLand, sushi restaurants and clubs with my friends.”
