Jennifer Hudson gave Gap Inc. the okay to use a cheery image of her in their new holiday ad campaign, despite the terrible tragedy that recently shook her family.

A GAP representative spoke with E! and assured them that, though Jennifer continues to mourn, “She said she wanted to be a part of [the campaign] and that we should move forward.”

Photographer Michael Thompson took the talented 27-year-old singer/actress’s likeness for the ad, which includes the tagline “Shine Your Own Star,” in New York City this past July.

Other stars appearing in the campaign include Mary-Louise Parker, Mila Kunis, Milla Jovovich, Ashanti, Jason Bateman with his 21-month-old daughter Francesca, Jon Heder, Rainn Wilson, and Cam Gigandet, among others.

Babs called the announcement “the worst-kept secret.” In other View news, Babs told Extra yesterday that Rosie O’Donnell sent her a copy of her new book with a note about how much she loves her. “I have read the book- and I would like to concentrate on the love that she sent,” Babs said. In the book, Rosie calls the View creator “”tired.”
