Tomorrow is shaping up as a pivotal day in Jennifer Aniston’s movie career. If you don’t already know, she’s opening in "The Break-Up" with unofficial real-life boyfriend Vince Vaughn. The reviews are scathing; the movie is said to be terrible. If Aniston’s built-in audience doesn’t show up tomorrow night, there’s going to be trouble.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Aniston has a couple more comedies and a thriller on the horizon. Unfortunately, the material doesn’t look terrific and except for George Hickenlooper, the directors attached to the projects aren’t very promising.

It’s hard to say what’s gone wrong here: in person Aniston is a friendly, generous soul who so far has not played the diva card. She’s accessible and amiable.

If "The Break-Up" is really as shrill and annoying as the advance notices indicate, Aniston may really have trouble attracting audiences in the future. She really should take a page from the playbooks of Goldie Hawn and other actresses who needed custom-made material to get out of ruts. And fast!

Aniston fans gotta band together this weekend! Given Vince Vaughn’s recent success with landing punch lines, there was considerable hope that if anybody could inject a little zip into the stagnating romcom, he’d be the guy to pull it off.

And he still might — one of these days.

In the meantime, there’s "The Break-Up," a major disappointment of an anti-romantic comedy for which Vaughn shares producer and story credits in addition to sharing the screen with real-life squeeze Jennifer Aniston.

Bottom Line: Don’t Believe The Hype

That’s one big OUCH from The Hollywood Reporter!  BURNED. Will fans flock to theaters for The Break-Up anyway for the former Friends star?  I smell another box-office miss… but hey, The Da Vinci Code still managed. Here are pictures from Jennifer Aniston’s appearance on Good Morning America, where she met and posed with members of the Marine Corp.  During Aniston’s interview, she described the five-band ring she wears on her left middle finger — one band for each of her five best friends (she wore only four before one broke). Below is the video of The Late Show with David Letterman (broken into two parts), where Aniston’s sexy legs caused quite the commotion.  During one of her stories, Aniston tells of one member of the press that asked, "What was your worst Break-Up?"  Kkeakeka. New York, NY :: Jennifer Aniston, looking fit for days, arrived to the taping of The Late Show with David Letterman earlier this afternoon at the Ed Sullivan theater.  Look out for the leggy lovely’s guest appearance tonight @ 11:35PM ET/PT on CBS. I want to see an $8 million Vaughniston wedding!  On-and-off-camera couple Jennifer Aniston, 37, and Vince Vaughn, 36, did their best not to be pictured side-by-side last night during the premiere of their new romantic comedy. Who’s your pal? According to a poll conducted by Sisterwoman.com, a new social networking site that celebrates women’s friendships, Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston are the top two best celebrity girlfriends. The Big O garnered 36% of the votes.  Polltakers were almost as effusive about beleaguered "Friends" star Aniston, who finished a close second with 34% of the vote. After her divorce from Brad Pitt, she has openly talked about the support of her girlfriends, even hanging out at Oprah’s pad in the wake of the split.

Surprise, surprise.  The View cohost Star Jones Reynolds and Madonna were named the worst celebrity girlfriends! Don’t forget that Vince Vaughn, 36, will be a guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno later on tonight. “I felt really safe with him,” Jen said. “That was the other thing. I immediately felt comfortable and like I’d known him for awhile.”

“She’s got Elvis dust,” Vince smiled.

“What’s Elvis dust?” Access Hollywood asked.

“It’s unexplainable. People are drawn to her. Jennifer’s the kind of person you could put in a room and all the kids would come over not even knowing how she is,” Vince explained.

“I loved the way we would volley together,” Jen said. “I had that on my show, where we would just have a trust but that was also 10 years in the making and we just met and had it pretty instantly.”
