John Mayer opened up at yesterday’s MET Costume Institute Gala about the photos of him and Jennifer Aniston in Miami. Here’s what he told multiple media outlets:

Entertainment Tonight: “Listen, this is not a scandal, this is not an issue, this is not a problem, this needs no spin control. This is me living my life and a guy with a really powerful lens and I don’t fault him, I don’t fault anybody, I don’t fault you, I don’t fault this or that. There are much worse problems in the world. Everything’s cool!”

Extra: “I don’t mean to deny it, but sort of deflect it. You have the photograph. You think it’s photo-shopped?”

Associated Press: “[I give the pics a] double thumbs up. “You know what I did? I looked at it and I said, ‘That’s about right.’ What am I going to say, ‘That’s not me’? You carry on and you enjoy yourself and you continue to live with dignity and everyone has fun.”

Jen, 39, and John, 30, shared a poolside bed at the Mandarin Oriental’s private beach club on April 24.

“They were very close to one another,” a witness tells In Touch. “They were cozy. It was obvious they have something for each other.”

“John was the one more into the moment,” adds the witness. “He was paying more attention to her than she was to him.”

John Mayer is crazy about Jennifer Aniston and In Touch has the photos to prove it!

Mayer flew to Miami on April 23 and checked into the Four Seasons hotel, but that’s not where he spent most of his time!

The 30-year-old musician instead spent most of his time in the $3,000-a-night presidential suite at the Mandarin Oriental, where Aniston has been staying while shooting the movie Marley & Me.

The pair were inseparable over the long weekend, cuddling poolside and sharing meals together. They even had dinner together at Miami’s Café Sambal on Saturday, April 27.

When asked how he was doing, after spending four days with his new love, John smiled and said, “My weekend was good.”

Musician John Mayer and actress Jennifer Aniston shared a private lunch on Friday afternoon in Miami.

John, 30, and Jennifer, 39, reportedly sat across from each other in a booth with their heads were close together, having a private conversation.

“I was happy to accommodate them,” said Charles Bell, general manager of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in the Miami Design District. Bell told People they opened their doors for the pair early at 3:30 p.m. for the 90-minute meal.

“I can’t speculate on what kind of meeting it was but they looked happy and seemed to have a great time,” he said.

The pair was also later in the day at Casa Tua on South Beach. They left the restaurant a bit before 1 a.m.

According to E!, she was photographed by Craig McDean. Aniston’s first ad campaign for Smartwater were shot by Mario Testino.

Also, according to People, Aniston shared a private meal with musician John Mayer in a Miami restaurant that opened Friday afternoon just for them.

“I was happy to accommodate them,” says Charles Bell, general manager of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in the Miami Design District.

Aniston ordered a chopped chicken salad, while Mayer had a Serrano ham sandwich which “Jen ate some of,” says Bell. For dessert, the pair shared a chocolate-and-peanut-butter layered treat.

The pair were shooting at Miami International Airport where it appeared that Owen’s character was dropping off Jen’s character.

Jen, 39, & Owen, 39, looked very comfortable together as they joked and laughed off camera throughout the shoot.

Marley & Me is due to be released on Christmas Day this year!

Aniston, 39, was taking a break from filming her new movie, Marley & Me.

And don’t forget–Jen will be the “surprise” guest star on tonight’s season finale of Oprah’s Big Give, airing Sunday @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

“I wouldn’t miss it … This is such an amazing, fantastic thing, to see all of these people compete to outgive each other,” Aniston says in the finale.

Aniston, 39, shot scenes with costars Owen Wilson and Gloria Estefan.

Marley is a yellow Labrador retreiver adopted by Josh Grogan, a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and his wife. Their idea was to give them a taste of parenthood, but the dog proved to be a hyperactive handful. He wreaks havoc, gets kicked out of obedience school and gets even worse when the children begin to arrive, yet becomes an indispensable part of the family.

Marley & Me is set to open Christmas Day 2008.
