Ben Affleck shared pearls of wisdom to students on Friday at the graduation of Washington DC’s Falls Church High School, where Affleck was the Commencement Speaker.

Affleck praised 19-year-old Joe Kindregan, a disabled student he met in 1998 on the set of Forces of Nature. Since then, the two built a close friendship. Kindregan invited him onto the stage saying, “He is married to the cutest girl (actress Jennifer Garner) … but most important he is the best friend you could ever have.” Affleck turned to the teen and said, “You’re right about my wife” (she sat front and center during the ceremony).

On his friendship with Kindregan: “I’m here because what I learned about the distance between how you see someone and who they are, I didn’t learn in Hollywood, I learned from a classmate of yours, my friend, Joe Kindregan.”

On his incredible acting abilities: “I haven’t been in space, I’m not a politician, I’m not a super hero – I’m not even a gangster. I’ve only pretended to be all of those – in some cases just barely.”

On believing in yourself: “What others say about you means nothing. What you say about you means everything. Your job is to make other people see you as you are.”

On not having any more degrees than anyone else in the room: “We will be tied,” he said. “I’m sure many of you could teach me quite a bit. In fact, I’m sure many of you could school me on that Smarter than a Fifth Grader Show.

Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner prepare to depart from Los Angeles International Airport with daughter Violet in the early morning hours.

Garner, 35, recently revealed plans to pitch a new talk show program described as “The View for mothers”. She is partnering up with So You Think You Can Dance host Lauren Sanchez-Whitesell on the idea and says that she will appear regularly on the show with daughter Violet.

Jennifer Garner and Lauren Sanchez-Whitesell say of the show: “We’re putting together a show for moms, by moms.”

There is no name for the show yet.

Mommy show host-to-be Jennifer Garner spends Sunday morning out with her precious daugther Violet.

First, the mommy-daughter duo made their daily visit to the Farmers Market where they stayed for almost an hour, buying fruit and flowers.

Jen, 35, and Violet, 17 months, then went to the playground at Palisades Park, where they spent the rest of the morning riding down slides and playing on the swings.

TV-mom-to-be Jennifer Garner and 17-month-old daughter Violet Affleck go shopping at the Brentwood Country Mart farmer’s market on Saturday after spending an hour at a nearby park.

Hubby Ben Affleck accompanied the mother-daughter duo’s afternoon out.

Jennifer Garner (Prada top, PINE IV jeans, Valentino bag) flashes a big ol’ smile for photographers on Wednesday as she drove home after shopping at the “Foot Candy” shoe store and lunching with a friend in Brentwood, Calif.

She and former (failed?) So You Think You Can Dance host Lauren Sanchez-Whitesell are in talks to start a new talk show for mothers, People reported earlier this week.

“It’s really [Jennifer’s] show and I’m the host,” said Sanchez, whose husband, agent Patrick Whitesell, represents Jen’s hubby Ben Affleck.

“We’re pitching it next week to a network. I call Jen the Barbara Walters of the show. She will come on periodically. We haven’t quite settled exactly [how often], but she’s the executive producer.

“We’ll talk about how to get your kids to sleep, or how do you choose the right school, or how to keep your marriage together after having kids. Jen might talk about how you keep a marriage together when you’re in the spotlight with a child. She’s photographed picking up trash in her front yard, she’s photographed doing everything.”

Proud parents Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner arrived at LAX airport on Sunday night, returning from their one-week holiday in Mexico accompanied by their 17-month-old daughter Violet.

“Ben and I like more things in ourselves that we now see reflected in Violet,” Jen told People in their Most Beautiful People issue. “To see my dimples in her makes me like my dimples because I share them with her. I hope to pass on to my daughter my mother’s comfort in her own skin, which I think I got some of.”

The former Alias star continued, “Violet is the most beautiful thing. Just that she exists and I get to hang out with her. I think that I can read her mind because I’m with her all the time. Then she’ll do something off the wall and surprising. There’s no one who is more fun.”
