Sex and the City star Jennifer Hudson catches a departing flight out of LAX airport in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Next week, J-Hud will present at the June 24 BET Awards, helping to recognize the year’s best musicians, music videos, actors and athletes. Ne-Yo, Terrence Howard and Gabrielle Union will also be handing out awards on stage.

Performers set for the show include Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nelly and Usher.

Quincy Jones will receive the network’s Humanitarian Award and Jill Scott will perform a tribute to BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner Al Green.

Jennifer Hudson works out her curves in Peter Sororen at the premiere of Sex and the City: The Movie at Radio City Music Hall on Tuesday in New York City.

The 26-year-old Oscar actress recently talked with USA Today about her obsession with fashion:

Are you into shoes or bags? I’m a purse girl. I remember, I had a scene where you didn’t see my feet. So I took my shoes. Michael Patrick’s like, ‘Put those heels back on. You’re not fully in character unless you’re in heels.’ He’s serious. I had to put my heels back on. It’s hard. The heels are mandatory.

How many purses do you own? I have about 14 (bags) that are extremely expensive that were given to me. My mom says, ‘Don’t touch nothing you can’t pay for.’ My favorite is my Jimmy Choo bag — I got that one first. Another one of my favorites is my Valentino, which Valentino himself gave to me when I was in Rome last year. It has my initials on the side.

Here is the brand spanking new “Spotlight” cover for the debut single from Jennifer Hudson’s upcoming album. “Spotlight”, which was written and co-produced by Ne-Yo, impacts radio June 9 and will be digitally available at iTunes on June 10.

It’s a track that doesn’t really showcase Hudson’s vocal range, which made her such a hit on American Idol and Dreamgirls. But it should still do well on radio. What do you think??

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson opens up to Entertainment Weekly about her new role in Sex and the City. Here are some excerpts:

Sex and the City is a pretty white show. I’m glad to know that an African-American character was added and I got to be that character. I think we all can relate to the show, [and] this makes it so we all can relate even more. And also you’re looking at these grown women going through these things, but there’s someone younger that’s going through these things too, so I kinda covered two bases as a younger character and an African-American character. I killed two birds with one stone!

Speaking of fashion, you won an Oscar and the next day people were tearing you apart for the metallic jacket you wore over an Oscar de la Renta dress. No, that night! We went to the Vanity Fair party and on every table were these magazines…and on the cover was my picture: ”Worst Dressed.” I was like, Wow, I’ve won the Oscar, I’ve got to take that stuff lightly. If it was just a Vogue event [Vogue editor-at-large André Leon Talley dressed Hudson for the Oscars], it would have been fierce. But people weren’t ready for it for the Oscars.
