It was recently announced that the 28-year-old singer and Academy Award winner will have her own Christmas special this year. Jennifer Hudson: I’ll Be Home for Christmas will have Jen visiting family and friends in her native Chicago and performing at her favorite venues in the city, ABC said. The special will air in December.

Jennifer is also keeping busy with her nine-week-old son, David Otunga Jr. “He’s the best. It’s just amazing,” she said of motherhood, “us discovering each other, me becoming a mom.”

Check out this new portrait of Jennifer Hudson and her 7-week-old son David Otunga Jr. – named after her fiance.

“I love being nurturing and caring because I love to see other people happy,” the 28-year-old songstress tells People. “Who better to devote my time to than my own child?”

When asked if it was hard to keep her pregnancy under wraps, Jennifer shared, “David and I were the only people who knew for a long time. I would forget I was pregnant, it was so easy. I didn’t have any morning sickness, no cravings either. I just thought, ‘Oh, well, we’ll wait until it’ll tell on itself.’ I didn’t show until I was seven months so that made it easy right there.”

The 28-year-old American Idol vet performed her hit song “Spotlight” and her own rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “All In Love Is Fair” (with Stevie himself).

Jennifer has a 1-month-old son named Daniel David Otunga (named after her fiance). She said she looks forward to seeing “who he becomes, who he takes after, what he decides to do, if he’ll sing.”

Jennifer Hudson shows off her post-baby body as she leaves her hotel in New York City on Thursday (September 17). Baby David Otunga Jr. is 1 month and 1 week old — no pictures have been released just yet.

Tonight is the VH1 Divas event!!! Besides Jennifer, who else is performing? Kelly Clarkson, Adele, Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks and Miley Cyrus.

It’s a son for Jennifer Hudson!

The 27-year-old Oscar winner her and fiance, reality TV star David Otunga, welcomed son David Daniel Otunga, Jr. on Monday (August 10). THR reports the baby weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz., and was named after his father and her fiancee.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Of note: Jennifer never announced her pregnancy, mostly because of the brutal murders of her mother, brother and nephew.

Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson gives a wonderful performance of “Will You Be There (Hold Me)” at the Michael Jackson public memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7) in Los Angeles.

The song was released as one of Michael’s single in 1993. It also appeared on the soundtrack to Free Willy.

Michael, 50, died at UCLA Medical Center after going into cardiac arrest at his rented home on June 25 in Los Angeles.

The Jackson family today announced the participants for the Michael Jackson memorial for Tuesday (July 7) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
