Jennifer Lopez opens up to ET about her new movie The Back-Up Plan after a three-year hiatus from the big screen. The 39-year-old mother of twins will play Zoe, a pet store owner who gets tired of waiting for Mr. Right and gets artificial insemination, only to meet Stan, (Alex O’Loughlin) a man with real possibilities, the same day. Here’s what Jennifer opened up about:

On getting back on set: “The few days before I got really nervous I was like, what if I forgot how to act?!”

On balancing work with motherhood: “I bring the babies to work with me. I love it. Honestly, one of the best days of my life was the first day back working on this film. I wanted to do this film really badly and bringing my babies with me that first morning, I was like, ‘Oh my God, they’re with me, I’m making a movie, they’re here!’ It’s great having kids on set. It’s the best.”

On getting her body back into shape after giving birth to twins: “It did take a lot of work,” she admits. “I thought it was gonna drop off easily because I had been in shape my whole life, but it wasn’t. I gained about 50 pounds with my twins, and the first 30 dropped off like that, and I was like, ‘Ha, this is gonna be so easy.’ That last twenty pounds, that took a while.”

Jennifer Lopez is positively beaming after getting a visit from her daughter Emme, 16 months, on the Los Angeles set of her latest movie, The Back-Up Plan, on Friday (May 29).

The 39-year-old mom and husband Marc Anthony shared dinner at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood earlier this week. The couple sat in a back corner table outside. “They were totally cute,” an onlooker tells People. “Really deep in conversation, and they seemed to be having a good time.”

Jennifer Lopez walks to the set of her new romantic comedy, The Back-Up Plan, on Thursday (May 14) in Pasadena, Calif.

The 39-year-old’s daughter Emme had a medical scare at just 3-months-old. Jennifer told E!, “We both got very nervous, very very nervous, and I just remember my heart sinking to my feet. I looked at [my husband Marc Anthony] and I said, ‘You know if anything happens, I’m not going to be OK, you know that, right?’ Luckily, in the end, she turned out fine.”

Jennifer Lopez shoots her new romantic comedy, The Back-Up Plan, on a Los Angeles film set on Wednesday (May 13).

The 39-year-old plays a fed-up wannabe mother who meets a promising romantic prospect the same day she receives artificial insemination. SNL regular Michael Watkins will play Mona, the longtime best friend of Jennifer’s character. The film opens in theaters everywhere in 2010.

Jennifer Lopez heats up the red carpet in a Temperley London emerald green jersey dress at the 3rd Annual “Noche de Ninos” Gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (May 9) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

At the event, Jamie Lee Curtis was presented with the 2009 Entertainment Industry Courage to Care Award. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who starred with Jamie Lee in True Lies, presented the award to her. Jennifer was accompanied at the event by husband Marc Anthony (pictured below).

Jennifer Lopez chats with Rachael Ray about her twins Max and Emme, 14 months. Check it out:

On the twins’ differences: “You can really see it, even from when they’re really young. Boy, girl. It’s funny to say because he’s more like the visceral boy, running, knocking things down, eating the world - you know what I mean? And she’s kinda like, takes a step and stops and picks things up, and she’s like, ‘I don’t know, maybe I’ll eat this.’ … It’s funny because now that I see Max, I’m like, I was more like Max.”

On Emme being a lot like herself: “She’s funny because we call her Emme-tude because we’re like she’s giving us Emme-tude right now… when she catches an attitude - Wooooahh. She gets that from her dad. I’m kidding … She gets it from me.”

On the twins’ first birthday party: “We did it in my backyard in L.A. We had a BBQ/carnival type thing. It was more just like we had snow cones and a little jumpy. They had the best time at their birthday party, I didn’t think a one year old could have fun at a birthday party. But they did, they loved it. …I think I did a good job, and they’re going to remember.”

Jennifer Lopez appears on Good Morning America and Regis & Kelly on Wednesday (April 22) in New Yorrk City.

The 39-year-old singer/actress spoke about being in shape and keeping her babies healthy. “Your body becomes sort of this temple for the babies,”Jen told GMA. “I needed to do it [the triathalon] to feel like Jennifer again. It was really great for me physically, emotionally, mentally. It got me thinking about achieving again, doing again.”

Jennifer Lopez dances and claps to the beat backstage while watching husband Marc Anthony perform at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Thursday (April 9) in Hollywood, Florida.

On Saturday (April 11), the 39-year-old singer/actress and Marc arrived back home via private jet into Burbank, Calif. Accompanying the couple were their 13-month twins, Max and Emme, and Marc’s two sons — Christian, 8, and Ryan, 5.
