Jessica Simpson carries out one of her friend’s sons after having lunch at a Santa Monica restaurant on Wednesday. One of said friends being hairdresser BFF Ken Paves, of course.

This past weekend, Jessica, 27, met beau Tony Romo’s parents over dinner at an Olive Garden in Janesville, Wisc.

“She scooted up next to him during the meal,” the restaurant’s general manager Doug Belfanz tells People. “They were acting like a couple. They were laughing. It was just a big family being out.”

PETA, of course, couldn’t sit on this one. As soon they saw Jessica Simpson proudly wearing her “REAL GIRLS EAT MEAT” shirt, they fired back!

PETA listed the top 5 reasons why only stupid girls brag about eating meat. Here are two of them:

– Meat increases the risk of breast cancer. A 2007 study of 35,000 women published in the British Journal of Cancer found that women who ate meat were far more likely to develop breast cancer than women who consumed none. Will Jessica’s next t-shirt will say, “Real Girls Smoke 3 Packs a Day”?

– Meat will make you fat. All the saturated fat and cholesterol in chicken wings, pork chops, and steak eventually leads to flabby thighs and love handles. I hope the upcoming “Jessica Simpson’s Intimates” line comes in plus sizes! Going vegetarian is the best way to get slim and stay that way.

Country crooner Jessica Simpson lunches at the Mexican restaurant Dos Caminos in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City on Wednesday afternoon.

Jessica’s manager dad, Joe, recently talked to Extra about the rumors that he’s a controlling father. He said, “For all those people thinking I’m sipping Pina Coladas on the beach and enjoying millions of dollars and having this great life … I work seven days a week, 24/7. [My daughters] don’t call me and ask me. They call me and tell me.”

Mr. Simpson also said that Jessica’s relationship with Tony Romo is going well: “He’s a great guy. I love Tony to death. … He’s just a good kid.”

Here’s a little addition to today’s earlier post on Jess. While being followed by paparazzi, one photog doled out the compliments about how “lovely” she looked. Jessica responded, saying, “Butter me up boys!”

Jessica also recently talked about her future in country music with Nashville’s Tennessean. She addressed why some people are so against her singing country music: “I think just because my name is attached to it. Or maybe they thought that I was just trying to stomp on their ground for a little bit and see what I could do, and then just go back and make another pop record. But I’m planning on making country for the rest of my life, and I don’t want to go back to that other world.”

After conquering the handbag, shoe, sunglass and swimsuit world, Jessica Simpson is soon going to release a lingerine line.

The 27-year-old singer/actor/designer tells WWD, “I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that’s the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood.”

Jessica Simpson’s Intimates will be a collection of bras, undies, pajamas, daywear and panty-line erasing shapewear. The lingerie line will hit stores Spring 2009.

As reported earlier, Mr. Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo competed in the U.S. Open Challenge charity event at Torrey Pines in San Diego. The challenge to the “average” golfer was to break 100. Romo finished the charity event with a group low score of 84! Way to go Romo! Justin Timberlake finished with 98 and Today Show Matt Lauer finished at an even 100.
