Jessica Simpson couldn’t be happier in life with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, she tells People in its latest issue. Here’s what the 28-year-old aspiring country singer had to say:

On finding her true love: “I just told him today, ‘You’re the love of my life.’ I don’t really ever say that to anybody.”

On changing her cell phone number and e-mail address to cut off any potential communication from her exes: “I don’t want anybody that’s been in my life [before] in my life anymore. I don’t even want them to have any way of contacting me.”

On her relationship with John Mayer, which began in 2006 and fizzled out last summer: “I had to regain self-esteem and self-value.”

The 28-year-old singer recently shared about how her latest album came about. “I hadn’t been singing for a long time, and I finally got to that place where I was comfortable opening up again,” Jessica said. “I’d been going through a divorce, and I wasn’t really strong enough to (sing); I had to go through the hurt and healing. I had to sit back and relax and go through everything like a normal person would.”

Jessica also tried to clear up some misconceptions about herself, “that I’m just in it for the money and the paparazzi – they really think that what they see in the tabloids is how I live my life,” she said. When we did Newlyweds, I felt that people really got to see me for who I am – the fun side of me, the hardworking, normal girl who burps and falls flat on her face.

Last week, Jessica was named the new spokesperson for Stampede Light Plus beer.

The ads reads, as if Jessica is saying it, “I work out and take care of myself. But I also like a cold beer once in a while. That’s why I made the smart choice with a smart beer. Stampede Light, it’s beer plus.”

As reported earlier, the 28-year-old actress/singer was named the new spokesperson for Stampede Light Plus beer.

Jessica Simpson is lending her celebrity to sell beer for Stampede Light Plus.

As the new spokeswoman for the beer brand, the 28-year-old aspiring country singer will appear in ads in stores and will take a 15 percent stake in the brewer.

[As an entrepreneur,] I’m always looking for ways to diversify my portfolio with good ideas and good people,” Jess said in a statement. “[But] yes, I work out and take care of myself. I also like a cold beer once in awhile.”

Stampede Light bills itself as a beer for active people. Its official website even has an animation of a guy doing push-ups. Check it out at StampedeBeer.com.

Jessica Simpson spends the evening with her hair stylist Ken Paves on Monday.

Together they went to Pier 59 Studios West in Santa Monica, and then went to dine at Mr. Chow restaurant.

The 28-year-old singer recently spoke to The Herald about getting back to her country roots and the rumors that surround her.

On whether or not she will try to keep one foot in the pop universe: “I’ve completely jumped into the country world. Really I just feel like I’m back to my roots as a southern girl, being from Texas and all. It’s the music that I would listen to growing up. I would also listen to and I am a fan of pop music, but it’s not an honest place for me as an artist,” Jessica said.

On particularly outrageous rumors that she’s heard of: “Oh my gosh. There are so many rumors out there that are just ludicrous and disgusting to me. As far as any funny ones, anything from like, me having a jaw replacement. It’s like, people take pictures of me every day. If I had a jaw replacement, don’t you think it’d be bandaged up?”

Jessica Simpson performs at the 2008 Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, Indiana on Thursday.

The 28-year-old singer sang several songs from her latest album, and also covered Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man” and John Michael Montgomery’s “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident).”

Jessica’s dad, Joe Simpson, was escorted by seven state troopers when he walked through the members of the audience.

Jessica Simpson appears on the cover of the September issue of Elle magazine and opens up about her previous and current relationships.

On the period immediately following her 2005 split from ex-husband Nick Lachey: “I was going through a lot of pain. I didn’t try anything to change my life other than dating different types of guys and conforming to their worlds. I thought I had to be artsier, more intellectual.”

On if she’s been physically abused and recording a song about it: “I don’t want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run… I had to record that. There’s nothing on my album that you’re gonna hear that I don’t relate to or that I haven’t experienced. Because the only way I know how to sing is from life experience.”

On her ex-beau, musician John Mayer: “John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within. He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else.”

On her relationship with Tony Romo: “Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart, but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with. It’s the cutest thing, he’ll say, Jessica, 75% of the comments about your new single are favorable.”
