Both Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo open up in the June 2009 issue of Vanity Fair (on sale in NY/LA May 6 and nationally May 12). Here’s what the couple shared:

Romo on having a supportive girlfriend: “You know, it’s very hard when you lose, because games are important, and so many people put so much time and effort in. It’s nice to have someone to come home to and try and make you feel better… We’re very similar in that we both appreciate the hometown feel to a lot of things, and live our life like that. She comes to a ton of games. She’s a supportive girlfriend.”

Simpson on ignoring the media: “When it comes to media criticism, that’s just something I have had to train myself—literally train myself—to ignore…. I mean, the way people make it sound, I should have never been singing in the first place…. It comes with what I do, and I know that every day the media’s going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I’m at such a place that I own myself, and it’s authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them…. I can’t imagine saying some of the things people have said about me about anybody else.”

Simpson on ex-husband Nick Lachey and whether or not Newlyweds affected their marriage: “I have not spoken to him in years. [As for the show,] in all honesty, I believe it did not affect our marriage. Because we enjoyed watching those episodes, and that will always be a time I cherish. It made me understand what marriage is, what love is, what commitment is.”

Simpson on her faith: “I’m spiritual. I live off the faith that has been instilled in me, that has never left. I’ve never let a stumbling block actually make me fall…. We all go through trials, but not one thing has ever made me question God. I have a great relationship with God. I can talk to him, get mad at him, frustrated with him. But, ultimately, my faith is what defines me.”

Jessica Simpson and boyfriend Tony Romo, go out to dinner with sister Ashlee and dad Joe at Beso on Saturday (April 11) in West Hollywood, CA.

The 28-year-old singer recently parted ways with the label Sony Nashville. “Jessica is and has always been an Epic artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She continues to be on Epic’s label,” her rep told Us Weekly.

While her country debut Do You Know opened at Number One, it sold less than 200,000 copies. Jessica’s bio and information are no longer available on Columbia Nashville or Sony Nashville’s web sites.

Jessica Simpson works on her tan poolside (with a few girlfriends, including mom Tina) in Mexico on Thursday (April 2).

The 28-year-old country singer recently was asked what will be added to her new fashion line. Jessica shared, “We are doing coats for kids. Already right now we are connected with Stride Rite shoes for kids. Now we are getting into coats, but I am anxious for the luggage. I am always traveling so I can’t wait to put my Louis Vuitton stuff aside and actually rock some Jessica Simpson going through airport.”

Jessica Simpson wears some Daisy Duke shorts while performing at the Florida Strawberry Festival on Sunday (March 8) Plant City, Florida.

The 28-year-old country singer told fans at the concert, “Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder. I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless.”

Jessica will be performing with Rascal Flatts on Friday at the New Orleans Arena.

Ashlee Simpson, Jessica’s younger sister, was recently cast to be part of The CW’s revival of Melrose Place.

Jessica Simpson arrives at LAX airport on Sunday (February 15) after performing with Rascal Flatts in New York last week.

At her performance in Rochester, NY, Jessica, 28, gave a shout out to her boyfriend Tony Romo, when she introduced the song. “You’re My Sunday.” “Somebody came into my life and made me see myself in the best mirror possible, so I wrote this song for her.”

“Ha! Can you imagine?,” she said, joking that the song was for her dog Daisy.
Jessica then looked toward Tony and said, “Sorry, baby. This song’s for you.”

Jessica Simpson isn’t shy as she shows off her knees with ripped jeans and goes on a romantic lunch date with boyfriend Tony Romo at Da Silvano in New York City a day before Valentine’s Day on Friday.

The 28-year-old country singer is in town as she had a performance with Rascal Flatts at Madison Square Garden last night. With all the drama regarding her weight, she even talked about what she was wearing last night!

During the concert, Jessica, 28, shared about the inspiration for one of her songs. “To any woman out there who is in an abusive relationship, let me tell you that each and every single woman, you can take your heart and run so far away and fall in love again, and that’s the reason I recorded this song called ‘Remember That’.”

Jessica even told the audience about her choice of clothing that night. “So I have to say that everytime I’ve performed Madison Square Garden my pants have completely ripped in half because I’d go down and hit a note, so tonight I decided to wear a little, like ‘Scort,’ not a skirt, but it’s like shorts, just so they wouldn’t split, anyways!”

After the concert, Jessica was spotted out in NYC holding hands with her boyfriend Tony Romo.
