‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ Gets the Green Light Mon, 12 May 2008
NBC announced that comedian Jimmy Fallon will replace Conan O’Brien as host of the Late Show next year.
“It’s going to be a grind, it’s going to be hard, but I’m going to go at it full force,” Fallon told reporters on a conference call. “The fact that I’m stepping into David Letterman and Conan O’Brien’s shoes is very exciting.”
When asked how much his new job would pay, Fallon joked, “I keep asking Lorne and he’s telling me not to worry about. They’re paying me enough. I just want to live comfortably in Dubai.”
Fallon, 33, was a regular on Saturday Night Live for six seasons and was co-host of its “Weekend Update” segment.
The premiere date for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has not been announced yet.

Rumors had been flying since last July that Jimmy Fallon was a front runner to take over Conan O’Brien’s ‘Late Night,’ and now according to reports, the deal is sealed.
NBC will reportedly make the formal announcement about Jimmy around May 11 or 12, when the network presents the fall 2008 schedule to advertisers here in New York, sources tell Fox News.
Last December, Jimmy, 33, married movie producer Nancy Juvonen in the Caribbean.
Conan O’Brien will be taking over for Jay Leno, who will leave the “Tonight” show in May 2009 as part of a forced retirement.

Jimmy Fallon married movie producer Nancy Juvonen last Saturday on Necker Island in the Caribbean, publicist Ina Treciokas recently announced.
“Family and close friends were in attendance,” she said.
The 33-year-old former Saturday Night Live funnyman proposed at sunset last August on the dock of Juvonen’s family home in Wolfeboro, N.H.
Juvonen, 40, co-owns production company Flower Films with Drew Barrymore.

Juvonen, 39, co-owns production company Flower Films with Drew Barrymore.

Conan O’Brien will be replaced by Jimmy Fallon, if NBC has their way.
“We know him from SNL and saw what he can do on-camera and off-camera, and I think he’d be terrific,” says NBC late-night chief Rick Ludwin. I think he’s be terrific, and he’s at the top of our short list.”
Conan has less than two years left in his contact, making way for Fallon in 2009.

The red carpet event was held at NYC’s Ziegfeld Theater last night with the after-party festivities held at the Chelsea Hotel. Factory Girl opens in NY/LA this Friday, Feb. 2.
