The Office star John Krasinski is said to be one of the contenders to play Steve Rogers, the alter ego of the title character in the superhero flick Captain America.

Marvel will be conducting a series of screen tests this week. Other celebs in competition include Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Michael Cassidy, Patrick Fluger, Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) and Mike Vogel (Cloverfield). THR also reports Garrett Hedlund was also supposed to test but no deal has been made yet.

Deadline reports that if someone like Chace or John is cast, they could fetch around $300,000 for the first film.

John Krasinski and his fiancee, Emily Blunt, spend time together with some furry friends on Saturday (February 20) at a dog park in L.A.

The 30-year-old actor and his 26-year-old sweetheart played with John’s red fox lab, Finn, and other pups at the dog park after coming back into town on Friday.

John Krasinski and fiancee Emily Blunt hold hands as they arrive at LAX on Friday (February 19) in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old actor and his 26-year-old sweetheart packed light - neither had any luggage to carry home after their trip!

Emily recently told Mirror that she loves living in Los Angeles. “I love LA,” she shared. “It’s what you make of it and I’ve always felt very happy there.”

As for what Emily’s next project is, she’s not sure yet. “I don’t know what I’m going to do next,” she said. “I want to make sure it’s something that really moves me.”

The 26-year-old British actress worked with Sir Anthony Hopkins and said, “He’s very, very cool. I was riveted by him. I would sit around and talk to him between takes, and he’d tell us wonderful stories. He’s a great mimic,” she told OK!.

Emily said, “He’s quite an economical actor. It’s masterful to watch - and it’s distracting. I’d watch him in the scene and be like, ‘Oh, s***! I forgot my line.’ ”

The 30-year-old actor and his friend checked out Cherry and Martin, Blum & Poe and LA Contemporary in search of the perfect work of art.

John’s fiancee, Emily Blunt, recently spoke with The Guardian about the challenges of being in a relationship with a fellow actor. “Although this is a magical job, and I have that shared understanding with the person I’m with, it is still only what I do – it’s not who I am. If you can make that distinction then you’re in a good place,” she shared.
