Newly engaged couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt apparently want a short engagement.

“They’ve told their friends and family that this isn’t going to be a long engagement,” a source tells In Touch. “They have to schedule [the wedding] pretty tightly around his work on The Office. He only gets two breaks a year from shooting — at Christmas and in late March. Emily’s going full speed into wedding planning mode. She’s interested in starting a family, so there’s really not a lot of time to waste sitting around.”

John, 29, and his 26-year-old British fiancée are reportedly hoping to tie the knot in his hometown of Boston before the end of the year. Bound to get her wedding invite is Emily’s The Devil Wears Prada co-star Anne Hathaway, who actually set the couple up last November.

“Anne is thrilled,” says the source. “She has been a huge cheerleader of John and Emily’s relationship.”

Earlier in the week, the 29-year-old Office star and his fiancee, 26-year-old British actress Emily Blunt, were seen holding hands as they walked along Houston Street in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City.

“We can confirm that John and Emily are engaged,” says the rep.

The Office star, 29, and British actress, 26, have been dating since November 2008 but continue to stay mum about their relationship. Engaged after less than a year of dating!

A solo John Krasinski grabs breakfast to go at West Hollywood eatery La Conversation on Friday afternoon (April 10).

The 29-year-old star of The Office kept a low profile, hiding behind a pair of sunglasses and underneath a cap.

Krasinski is currently dating British actress Emily Blunt.

The Office had two new episodes last night — “Dream Team” and “The Michael Scott Paper Company.” Did you enjoy them both??? (The premiere of Parks & Recreation was sandwiched in between the two episodes.)

She explained why to USA Today: “Unfortunately, when you invite those questions in, then when things go south, people still have the assumption that you want to talk about it. According to EW, the 29-year-old Office star plays an insurance salesman expecting his first child with his girlfriend (Maya Rudolph, inset). Here, the couple visits an old friend (Maggie Gyllenhaal) who has eccentric theories on child rearing.

“This is the calm before the storm,” says Krasinski. “We’re about to head to her house for dinner, which turns into an absolute disaster.”

Directing the film was Sam Mendes, who won an Academy Award for American Beauty.

Krasinski, 29, suited up in Dolce & Gabbana. Blunt, 25, sparkled in a hip-hugging Pamella Roland dress. She finished off her look with Neil Lane jewels — diamond stud earrings and a 20-carats large diamond right hand ring.

During the ceremony, the couple met up at backstage. Emily and Eric McCormack presented Best Drama Series Ensemble to Mad Men. John and Amy Poehler honored Brothers & Sisters star Sally Field with Best Female Actor in a Drama Series.

John’s costar Rainn Wilson wore a custom-tailored black wool bound-edge tuxedo by Burberry.
