January Jones urges Sen. John McCain to pass the Shark Conservation Act at his office on Capitol Hill on Wednesday afternoon (September 30) in Washington, D.C.

“We should be scared for sharks, not of them,” said the 31-year-old Golden Globe nominee. “The survival of sharks and the health of our oceans depend on it.”

After the meeting, John tweeted, “Great meeting and tour of the Capitol with January Jones, who is an advocate for sharks. I’m a huge fan of Mad Men!”

This past Sunday’s episode of Mad Men pulled in 1.729 million viewers. Come on guys, let’s get to 2 million next week!

Republican vice-presidential Sarah Palin found herself the butt of another joke Saturday afternoon during a phone call prank.

The “Masked Avengers”, Marc-Antoine Audette and Sebastien Trudel from the Montreal radio station CKOI, managed to get through to Palin posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

“I just love killing those animals. Hmm-hmm. Take away a life, that is so fun. I’d really like to go, as long as we don’t bring Vice-President Cheney,” Audette said, referring to an incident in which Dick Cheney shot a fellow hunter by accident.

“No, I’ll be a careful shot,” Palin responded with a laugh.

The prankster ends with: “If one voice can change the world for Obama, one Viagra can change the world for McCain.”

They also brought along props including a shotgun, a bottle of beer and Henry Browne’s “You Can Profit From A Monetary Crisis.” Hilarious.

Last week, Diddy hid under his bed sheets because he was scared of Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

Now he’s back to say that her running mate, John McCain, scares him even more than Palin. In his latest video blog, Diddy reacts to a clip of the latest presidential debate where McCain refers to his opponent, Democrat Barack Obama, as “that one”.

Diddy rants, “This is 2008, not 1962. He referred to a grown man, as ‘that one’. [Barack is] a man that has worked hard, done the impossible and has fought for every amount of respect he deserves. If you disagree with somebody or not, you are trying to be the President of the US and you’re referring to another man as ‘that one’… That’s not right, man. That one?”

McCain on his fave TV shows: “My hero is Jack Bauer of 24. You know I guess it’s coming back on. Jack Bauer you know he always escapes, and I never escape… You know what series I really liked recently was The Tudors. Did you see that?”

McCain’s love of grilling: “The longer you’re there on the grill the longer you’re there with your friends. It’s one of my main sources of enjoyment. We have a place up in northern Arizona and it’s beautiful up in the red rock country of northern Arizona and there is nothing I would rather do than have those ribs on a grill, have our friends with us, and our family around us.”

McCain’s White House make-over if elected: “Yes, we will have a grill and at Camp David we will have a grill, and I guarantee it that nobody but me is going to do the grilling. I want to assure you that. No one has ever done the grilling at my great expectations.” (Cindy adds:“It is not a grill democracy in our house if that’s what you’re wondering.”)

Cindy McCain on being happy with her husband’s VP pick: “I’m so glad though that Sarah Palin is on the ticket for this reason. I’m a huge Deadliest Catch fan and they [Sarah and husband Todd Palin] know them. I can’t wait, I want to meet the Deadliest Catch guys.”

In the race for ratings, John McCain has beat Barack Obama for viewership during their respective convention speeches.

According to Nielsen, McCain drew 38.9 million viewers for his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention while Obama only drew 38.4 million viewers for his acceptance speech. 38.9 million viewers ranks as the highest rated convention in history.

In related news, Oprah Winfrey has stated that she is more than willing to interview Sarah Palin after the campaign is over.

“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue,” Oprah says. “There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Republican presidental hopeful John McCain greets his running mate’s pregnant teenage daughter Bristol Palin and her fiancé Levi Johnston at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport on Wednesday in Bloomington, Minnesota. The entire Palin family was at the airport to greet McCain and his family as they arrived for the Republican National Convention.
