Johnny Depp presents director pal Tim Burton with the Golden Lion For Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony during day 8 of the 64th Venice Film Festival on Wednesday in Venice, Italy.

“I’m very honored,” said Burton, 49. “It means a lot to me. Hopefully it just inspires me to keep going.”

He joked that the award was better than an Oscar, saying: “It’s actually a lot more beautiful-looking thing than a bald, naked man.”

Burton also told Reuters: “You grow up in Hollywood and that whole scenario and what you feel here is that there is just passion about movies. So that’s what makes it special to me - it’s not about business, it’s not about finance, it’s about just the love of movies.”

Johnny Depp is packin’!!!!

Depp, 44, proves he’s not a light packer in the slightest as he arrives with carts full of luggage in Venice, Italy for the 64th Annual Venice Film Festival on Wednesday.

He’s expected to present the Golden Lion lifetime achievement award to his long-time collaborator and friend at a red carpet event later today, which festival organizers dubbed “Tim Burton Day” in his honor.

A shirtless Johnny Depp and his bride-to-be, Vanessa Paradis, cruise the Mediterranean in their boat on their private yacht on Friday in Elba Island, Italy.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star may be ready to marry Paradis having been linked since 1998. The pair may wed as early as the end of this month.

Depp, 44, and Paradis, 34, currently live in France with their two children Lily-Rose, 8, and Jack, 5.

Co-stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom greet each other with a holy handshake on stage at the Asia premiere of the Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan.

When asked about making a meal out of villainous sea monster, Davy Jones, played by Bill Nighy, Depp joked, “I am still intrigued by the idea of Bill as sashimi. I suddenly have this image of me sailing the seas trying to scoop pieces of Bill into a roll.”

Added Orlando on the squid pro quo, “There is nothing like a bit of calamari for the table. He’s a very tasty meal, I believe.”
