Jonathan Rhys Meyers unbuttons his shirt for the official launch party for the third season of Showtime’s The Tudors at the Conde Nast Building on Monday (March 30) in New York City.

This season, Grammy-winning songstress Joss Stone joined the cast of The Tudors playing Anne of Cleves, Henry VIII’s (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) fourth wife.

Check out this new ad of The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the face of Hugo Boss’s new scent for men, Hugo Element.

This Friday, January 30th @ 5PM, guests who make a $65 purchase of Hugo Element at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City will get to meet JRM and have him autograph their fragrance bottle.

Later this year, JRM will be appearing in a new film, Shelter with Julianne Moore. He also just completed filming From Paris With Lovewith John Travolta.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers hits up Showtime’s 2009 Winter TCA Party on Wednesday (January 14) at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

The 31-year-old Irish actor plays Henry VIII on Showtime’s The Tudors, which kicks off its third season kicks on Sunday, April 5.

Other pictures include JRM at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 11 in Beverly Hills. He had been nominated for “Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama” but lost out to In Treatment’s Gabriel Byrne.

It was recently announced that Grammy-winning soul chantuese Joss Stone joined the cast of The Tudors.

“The Tudors is now a fixture for us at Showtime, and we’re on our way to completing the entire saga of all six wives of Henry VIII,” Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt has said.

The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers receives a royal welcome as he is given the Honorary Patronage award from the Trinity College Philosophical Society during a special ceremony on Sunday in Dublin, Ireland.

Society president Barry Devlin said, “We look for people who we feel represent the spirit and values embodied by former pioneering Irish people like Oscar Wilde. We are delighted to present this award to such a list of diverse and talented individuals such as Jonathan Rhys Myers.”

Tidbit: Republican presidential candidate John McCain was given this honor when he came to Trinity in 2006 to answer questions from students.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was asked at the second season premiere of The Tudors how he liked to invest his money and what he did with his fortune.

“How do I invest my money?” Jonathan asked rhetorically.

“Well, I don’t invest it in Bear Stearns (BSC)!” the 30-year-old Tudors star joked to MainStreet. “I’m Irish. I keep it in mattress.”

What a great idea!

FYI: Bear Stearns’s stock plummeted last week after JPMorgan Chase agreed to buy it for just $2 per share.
