Jordin Sparks - “This is My Now” Lyrics Tue, 22 May 2007
It’s just a matter of time before they crown Jordin Sparks the season 6 winner of American Idol! Wednesday night, to be exact.
On the American Idol 6 finale, Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks battled it out over the song “This Is My Now.” The song was selected among the 25,000 submissions and almost 50,0000 votes as voted by Idol fans.
Blake’s rendition of it was pretty gawd awful. Jordin did a much better job but still far from perfect. It’s a hard song to sing! All of the judges agreed that Jordin was the clear winner of the night. Even Paula. Sorta. “Everyone’s a winner!!!”
SPEAK UP: What did you think of the Idol finale?
JORDIN SPARKS - “THIS IS MY NOW” LYRICS
There was a time I packed my dreams away
Living in a shell, hiding from myselfThere was a time when I was so afraid
Thought I’d reached the end
Baby that was then
I am made of more than my yesterday’s[Chorus]
This is my now, and I am breathing in the moment
But I look around
I can’t believe the love I see
My fears behind me, gone are the shadows and doubts
That was then, this is my now.And I have the courage like never before, yeah
I’ve settled forless now I’m ready for more
Ready for more[Chorus x2]
This is my now

Jordin Sparks Will Never Walk Alone Tue, 24 April 2007
American Idol contestant Jordin Sparks sang her own rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from the musical Carousel in one of the best performances in Idol history. Here’s what the judges said:
- Randy said, “I keep saying it every week but it’s so true this week. That’s one of the best vocals by any contestant on this show ever in six seasons. And it’s from someone who’s 17-years-old one. That was the hottest tonight.”
- Paula said, “You sure picked an amazing song to close the night. It’s one of those songs that’s very haunting. It swells and only someone with great vocals can do it. You did a lovely job. You’re glorious.”
- Simon said, “Unlike Randy, I thought you were fantastic. That song’s about sixty years old. I think you’d have a hit record with that. Brilliant.”

Jordin Sparks Does Diana Ross Proud Wed, 14 March 2007
The most enjoyable American Idol performance of the night from the Top 12 was Jordan Sparks’ rendition of Diana Ross’s “If We Hold on Together.”
Jordin, 17, did an outstanding job and it was her best performance to date on American Idol! She may not have had the best vocal but she was still better than everyone else who isn’t named Melinda or Lakisha.
Here’s what the judges had to say about Jordin’s performance:
- Randy Jackson said, “Tonight with that, you just made it a three girl race (with Lakiska Jones and Melinda Doolittle).”
- Paula Abdul said, “You drew me in right away.”
- Simon Cowell said, “I thought it was a very, very good vocal.”
