The Grey’s Anatomy star is reportedly making a serious effort to quit smoking after seven years.

Katherine’s good friend T.R. Knight, who quit smoking some time ago said, “Of course I support her.” “You have to be ready and find it in yourself,” T.R. told In Touch at a Point Foundation gala last week.

“It’s so stupid,” Heigl has said. “I have to quit the old fashioned way.” “I tried the patch [and] tried gum. I hate the gum. It burns my mouth,” she once said about her previous efforts.

Recently-withdrawn-from-the-Emmy- race-actress Katherine Heigl straps on her bright pink bikini and enjoys some fun in the sun with musician husband Josh Kelley at a beach in Mexico on Sunday.

The couple enjoyed a few drinks while while lapping up the sun on a well-deserved vacation with another female friend.

Kat just wrapped her new movie The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler.

Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelley board a private jet headed to Cancun, Mexico for a romantic getaway.

Last week, it was announced that Heigl will star in and produce a film adaptation of Escape, the bestselling memoir of Carolyn Jessop, whose testimony helped convict polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs.

Heigl’s decision last week to take herself out of the running for an Emmy has fueled rumors she might be leaving Grey’s Anatomy.

Katherine Heigl goes to the Beverly Center with her husband Josh Kelley in Los Angeles on Thursday.

There had been some rumors flying around that Katherine, 29, would would be leaving Grey’s Anatomy because of her recent box office successes, but she insists she’s looking forward to returning to the show and her role as Dr. ‘Izzie’ Stevens.

She says, “When I come back to Grey’s, I am actually really excited. After nine months a year for four years, of course you’re going to think, ‘I want to be someone else for a while.’

“I landed really good things and I did them in my breaks. It broke up the monotony of the character and I’m very, very grateful for opportunities. But Grey’s is such a good cast. Everybody is amazing.”

Newlyweds Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley keep each other close on the red carpet of Victoria’s Secret ‘What is Sexy’ Superbowl Party held at Taste Ultra Lounge in Scottsdale, Arizona on Sunday.

When asked what’s sexy about his wife, Kelley said, “She’s a tall, blonde, smart, sexy bombshell.”

In the VIP area, Heigl tossed back tequila shots with January Jones. ”

Kelley also performed two songs inside the Victoria’s Secret party.
