Jude Law has a little see-through moment while signing autographs for fans outside the The Donmar West End theater in London on Friday (May 29).
The 36-year-old British actor is playing the title role in a new production of Hamlet, directed by Kenneth Branagh. The pair, who worked together on the film Sleuth, will officially open the Shakespeare classic on June 3 and play through Aug. 22.

Jude Law signs some autographs as he leaves Wyndham’s Theatre, after performing in a new production of “Hamlet” on Thursday (May 28).
The 36-year-old actor will perform in the sold-out production, which will officially open June 3 and play through Aug. 22. “A couple of thoughts spring to mind about the meaning of the play. One is that one must suffer in order to gain wisdom, the second that life is a journey, and it is the journey itself that matters, not arriving at your destination,” Jude said in an interview with the Telegraph.
“Hamlet is a bit like a great song that’s been covered by a load of different singers. It’s like Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell all covering the same song. But they would each bring a different sound and color to it,” he said.

The core of the story portrays the relationship between the bohemian Sherlock Holmes (Downey) and bourgeois Dr. John H Watson (Jude Law). The Guy Ritchie-directed film is set for a Christmas 2009 release.

“There are many duos we wanted to draw from,” Jude says. “Something as eccentric as The Odd Couple to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Withnail and I and Laurel and Hardy. It’s the kind of friendship you can only have with someone of the same sex, a person you adore but who infuriates you.”

Jude Law is picked up from his London home in a chauffeur-driven car on Wednesday (March 25).
The 36-year-old British actor will be featured in the upcoming 6th Annual Vail Film Festival, hitting one of Colorado’s ski resorts from April 2-5. One of the programming highlights includes the documentary The Day After Peace, which images a worldwide “Day of Peace.” The Dalai Lama, Kofi Anon, Angelina Jolie, and Jude, among others are featured in the documentary.
UPDATE: Just to clarify, Jude won’t be at the festival, he’s just featured in the documentary. VIPs being welcomed this year include: Kevin Smith, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Biggs, Kaitlin Olson, Tricia O’Kelley, Ashley Jensen, Jenny Mollen and Giancarlo Esposito.
Jude Law arrives back to his home in London on Thursday (March 19) after attending the Minghella movie marathon at the Isle of Wight.
During the Oscars, Heath Ledger’s older sister Kate was interviewed. She was asked, “This isn’t the last you’ll see of Heath on screen. We still have Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I was wondering if you’ve seen any footage and what we could expect. What would be the final thing we see of Heath on screen?”
Kate responded, “We have seen a little bit of footage. He only completed I think about a third of the film. And then we’ve had some incredible actors — Johnny Depp and Jude Law and Colin Farrell step in to complete it. And I think it’s going to amazing. Jude Law attends the Minghella Movie Marathon, a film festival to mark the one year anniversary of director Anthony Minghella’s death.
The 36-year-old British actor was spotted arriving at the screening of The Talented Mr. Ripley at Medina Theater on the Isle of Wight on Sunday (March 15).
Minghella died March 18, 2008, after undergoing surgery the previous week for cancer of the tonsils and neck.
