The Bourne actress Julia Stiles listens to some beats on her iPod as she takes a stroll on a hot summer day in New York City on Thursday.

The 27-year-old Columbia University graduate has kept a fairly low profile recently with the exception of a Prince concert in London last year. Prince gave her a mic and she sang Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” in front of over 20,000!

Ms. Stiles is involved with three upcoming projects, Gospel Hill, The Bell Jar and Cry of the Owl. She was reportedly seen at the Sylvia Plath Symposium at Smith College this past April, possibly doing research for her role in The Bell Jar.

Julia Stiles, aka CIA operative Nicky Parsons, stuns in a feminine royal blue frock by Zac Posen at the London premiere of The Bourne Ultimatum at Odeon Leicester Square on Wednesday.

The Bourne again actress finished off her look with Jimmy Choo sandals and Bulgari jewelry.

Stiles loves how all the Bourne women are smart and self-confident… and fully clothed!

“You’d be surprised how much nudity is called for as an actress,” Julia has said. “I don’t have a problem with it or a problem when other actresses do it, but I’m a modest person and generally steer away from nude scenes and love scenes because, more often than not, I find they’re gratuitous.”

Julia Stiles goes ultra-feminine in a lacy white floor-grazing gown at the Los Angeles premiere of The Bourne Ultimatum held at the ArcLight Hollywood on Wednesday in Hollywood.

Julia will be reprising her role as special agent Nicky in the future boxoffice killer, out August 3.

Cosmopolitan says, “It’s been two years since Julia Stiles graduated from Columbia University with an English degree, but she’s still radiating a distinctly campus coed vibe. “I’m making a conscious effort to graduate from college in terms of my own personal style, but it’s taking a while,” she admits. Dressed in jeans, a brown cardigan, and clogs, she’s not sporting any makeup (not that she needs it!).

But there’s a pretty glamorous side to Julia too. Proof? She orders caviar during her Cosmo interview at a New York City sushi restaurant and has just come back from a dress fitting at Armani.

After all, the girl is a movie star…and this month’s much buzzed-about Bourne Ultimatum is bound to make her an even bigger one. In this third installment of the hit franchise, she reprises her role of Nicky, and in true special-agent fashion, she only reveals that her part is bigger this time around and that Nicky considers leaving the CIA after being asked to do some questionable things.

At 26, Julia has already earned the luxury of being able to be choosy about roles. “I have a lot of goals in terms of acting,” she says. “I may have done a lot of movies, but I’m a little older now and feel hungry to sink my teeth into a role that’s very meaningful to me.”

Okay, maybe not a hunk per se, but you know…

The pair reviewed notes from a movie script, most likely of Gospel Hill, which Julia, 26, has been busy filming in South Carolina recently (she reportedly plays a young school teacher).

The film also co-stars Danny Glover, Simon Baker, Angela Bassett, Nia Long and Friday Night Lights‘ Taylor Kitsch.

UPDATE 1: The mystery male has been ID’d as 22-year-old Blake Berris, who plays Nick Fallon on Days of Our Lives.

UPDATE 2: It’s not Julia Stiles! Blake Berris’s rep told Soap Opera Digest: “It’s is not Julia Stiles; it’s actually a friend of his named Nora. His feeling is he’s so happy to be at the party. His reaction, other than it being candid, was to get it out there that it’s not Julia.”

The after-party was sponsored by The Cinema Society and GQ and held at the Soho Grand Penthouse. Julianne was accompanied by husband director Bart Freundlich.
