Vanity Fair has charted the most influential blogs about politics, gossip, Hollywood, media, and miscellany, and located them on two basic continuums: tone and content. From “news” vs “opinion” and “earnest” vs “scurrilous”, Just Jared fell into the “Earnest and Opinion” category. Here’s what the mag wrote about JustJared.com:

“Just Jared: Kinder, gentler celebrity-gossip blog, chockablock with exclamation points!”

Score!!!!!! Interestingly enough, Vanity Fair chose Angelina Jolie as this blog’s icon. Hmmm, wonder why!!!!!

Also, JustJared.com is the only celebrity gossip blog in the lower right-hand quadrant (+X, -Y), alongside online news website Huffington Post, techie blog Boing Boing and fashion blog The Sartorialist.

JustJared.com is mentioned in an article in The New York Times called “The Beautiful People, the Uglier, the Better,” which is about tabloid photographs and how they’re analyzed pixel-by-pixel. Unfortunately, the NYT did not link here. BOOOOOO!!!! But here are two snippets:

It’s Jared’s birthday today!!!

Just Jared turns 25 today and to celebrate, we’re giving away free Fall Out Boy tickets! Friends and family are coming over later for one crazy Nintendo Wii party and then off to dinner and partying the night away!!!

It’s been an absolutely fantastic year, much in part to all you readers of JustJared.com! 2005 seemed just like yesterday and now it’s 2007 — almost!

I just want to personally thank each and every one of you for stopping by my blog over the year. I know there have been a lot of changes to this blog (good and bad) but don’t fret my pets. There are a number of awesome plans in the works for JustJared.com in the coming year. Can’t give away details just yet, but there are some very, very, very exciting things in store. (Read: Bigger and better)

And a big shout-out to all the new friends (and now practically family) I’ve met this year — via email and MySpace. (Add me if you haven’t already!) You all help me keep this blog going and going… and going. You guys are the coolest!

Back from my snowboarding trip from Whistler, Canada! Miss me much? Doobybrain did a excellent job (as always) while I was away, didn’t he? Anyway, I had blast eating good food, shopping, and of course, snowboarding!! Here’s a quick re-cap –

SERVICE WITH A SMILE :: Canadians certainly are a friendly lot. Never before in my life have I experienced such great service at a ski lodge. The housekeeper at our resort emptied out our dishwasher while we were snowboarding. The workers manning the gondolas and ski lifts removed our snowboards after our ride up the mountain. There were even waitresses to clear our food trays in the cafeteria. And this service was all done with a smile!

MOUNTAIN CONDITIONS :: There was plenty of fresh snow, and there were so many trails, my friends and I probably didn’t even ride down half of them! Conditions are so much better up north than what’s here on the East Coast, it (almost!) makes me want to move up to Canada! I’ll be back for sure…

And this is my friend Kim. She’s a goofball… but has HOT BUNS!

Canadians, watch out! Just Jared is coming your way! I’m on the airplane right now, ready to take off. Going to Whistler, Vancouver for the lo-o-o-ng weekend for a bit of snowboarding with friends.
