50 Cent is headed for retirement!
Kanye West’s album “Graduation” is outselling 50 Cent’s “Curtis.” According to Billboard, first week scans based on early store sales reports have “Graduation” selling 575,000-700,000 copies while “Curtis” is being projected in the 500,000-600,000 range.

But!!!!!!!! It could get worse for 50 Cent as he may come in THIRD this week. Country artist Kenny Chesney and his Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates album is selling in the range of 400,000-550,000 copies.

Kanye West, whose album drops today, had a complete meltdown backstage at the 2007 Video Music Awards. The rapper goes completely haywire, hating on MTV for using Britney Spears to open up the show and losing in all five categories that he was nominated for. Kayne’s so fumed, he even canceled his appearance on TRL today, missing out on a chance to hype up his new album.

“**** MTV. Y’all heard what the **** I said… Five nominations. I ****in’ lost to Black Eyed Peas last year, man. I’m never coming to MTV. Ya’ll find Britney. Get Britney. Get a real ****in’ artist. Kanye West and 50 Cent are battling it out on Rolling Stone’s next cover. The big showdown happens in less than a week when their albums drop on the same date, September 11th. Here’s an excerpt of “Who Will Be The King Of Hip-Hop?”:
“My first album was the highest-selling LP of 2003,” 50 Cent says, pointing to the fact that 2003’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ moved more than 800,000 copies in the four days after it dropped. He goes on to note that his follow-up, The Massacre, was the second-highest-selling album of 2005. “That album sold something like 1.14 million in four days. Jay-Z’s last album sold something like 1.6 total. Kanye works for Jay-Z. Kanye is a worker bee. He’s never been able to generate a fraction of the interest that I have.”
Rihanna parties with Kanye West at London’s Stringfellows nightclub on Monday night. Both artists bagged five nominations each while Beyonce and Justin Timberlake have seven.
Earlier in the evening, Kanye performed new tracks off his upcoming album at Westminster’s Methodist Hall. In the audience was, of course, Rihanna as well as Mika, Craig David and UK’s X-Factor winner Leona Lewis.
Kanye’s third album “Graduation” is set for a 9/11 release, the same day as 50 Cent.
“If me and Fifty didn’t have that date I would never have stopped working on my record,” Kayne announced at the concert. “In hip-hop, people are always dropping albums aimlessly. We’re like the gladiators and I think we’ve both upped our game because of it.” More Here! »

Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé led the group of nominees, each with seven nominations, followed closely by Kanye West and Rihanna with five and newcomer Amy Winehouse with three. For the full list of nominees, click here!

His royal homie-ness Prince Harry gets sandwiched between hip-hop moguls Kanye West and P. Diddy at the Concert for Diana at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Sources say Concert for Diana will be lucky if it breaks even because of reported bad planning and cost overruns.
“The fact that they won’t disclose [how much they're earning] makes you think that very little is going to charity, otherwise they’d be singing it from the mountain tops,” says Daniel Borochoff of the American Institute of Philanthropy. “My guess is that [donations] are very minimal and they’re embarrassed by it.”
