For an entire year, the 41-year-old Private Practice actress campaigned across the country for President-elect Barack Obama but had a very tough time getting tickets to his inauguration.
“I talked to the woman today, and she’s like, ‘We’re going to let you know in four to six weeks,’ ” Kate joked on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in November, “I’m like, ‘Isn’t that pretty much the inauguration?’ I think I’ll be on the outside of the inauguration door window with my nose pressed up against the glass.”
Kate will be at the Capitol Hill inauguration on Tuesday (January 20) but got her tickets like most everyone else — through one of her state’s senators, Dianne Feinstein.
Kate Walsh attends another Al-Anon meeting at a community church in Silverlake, Los Angeles on Saturday (January 10).
The 41-year-old Private Practice actress attended the meeting, which is a “fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope, in order to solve their common problems.” They believe alcoholism is a family illness, and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.

Private Practice star Kate Walsh’s movie exec husband Alex Young has filed for divorce from the actress, reports ET.
The date of separation is listed as November 22, 2008, just before the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the filing papers, Alex cited irreconcilable differences.
Kate and Alex married in September of 2007.
Something crazy must have happened between November 9 and 29 as the couple looked quite happy together in Las Vegas!
UPDATE: Kate’s reps tells JustJared.com, “Papers have been filed to amicably end the marriage of executive Alex Young, and actress Kate Walsh. The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
