Kate Walsh is a Lunch Lover
Private Practice star Kate Walsh dresses up in a hot black number for a lunch date with a friend on Tuesday (March 10) in Los Feliz, Calif.
The 41-year-old actress recently shared about starring in Private Practice, as well as being of the McDreamy and McSteamy phenomenon. “I look back on it now with nostalgia. With Patrick (Dempsey), he was like my brother. He was Paddy, Kate told Redbook. “We would all tease him a lot and rip him and watch as women keeled over in the airports when they saw him. We still see each other, and it’s always great to go back because they are like family. I live very close to Katie Heigl, and so I see her all the time too.”
Kate is recently divorced after a 15-month marriage to Alex Young.

Kate Walsh Goes Grocery Shopping
Kate Walsh does some grocery shopping on Sunday (March 1) at Mayfair in Hollywood, Calif.
The 41-year-old Private Practice star recently opened up to Redbook magazine about her recent divorce from Alex Young. Kate said people would be surprised to know that, “I second-guess myself all the time. I make a decision and then wonder if I made the wrong choice. I go to bed and worry, Did I think I was being funny and I insulted someone? Sometimes I come off as confident, but really I am a quivering little wharf rat underneath who is radically insecure and deeply in need of love and understanding.”
Kate also revealed that she would like to start a family of her own one day. “One of my favorite parts of the show is that we get to work with babies every episode. I don’t know if it’s a woman thing — to want to nurture something and also give back — but one of the things I have gotten into is volunteering at hospitals in L.A., helping with the infants who need human contact.”

Kate Walsh Opens Up About Divorce
Kate Walsh describes herself as funny, willful, and a troublemaker in the March 2009 edition of Redbook magazine. The 41-year-old Private Practice star opens up about her mischievous childhood, guilty indulgences, and about her 15-month marriage to Alex Young:
On her life as a kid: “Well, my parents divorced when I was 7. My mom went back to work, so I spent a lot of time alone and learned to be very independent. We moved a lot, and I made friends wherever I went. I got A’s, B’s, and then U’s — “unsatisfactory” — in citizenship… I was being talkative, acting out in class. There was a time in seventh grade when I would do anything on a dare. My friend dared me to dance on a teacher’s desk with a rose in my mouth, and I did it. That’s why I am an actor, probably!”
On being Italian and Irish and loving to eat and drink: “We have a lovely wine cellar at home, and I can cook. I love to make pasta. We all love food. We yell and scream and are lots of fun at a dinner party.”
On her divorce: “I don’t think anyone gets married thinking that they will get divorced. We certainly did not. Alex and I still care for each other, and I wish him nothing but the best. The silver lining to this, however, is that I have a wonderful family and a great group of friends who really showed their support and encouragement, and for that I am truly grateful.”
