The 42-year-old former Matrix star has a new film coming out in 2008 called The Night Watchman co-starring Oscar winner Forest Whitaker. The crime thriller tells the story of a veteran LAPD cop (Reeves), who turned to the bottle after his wife’s death, is framed by his former mentor (Whitaker) in the murder of a fellow officer. Production is scheduled to start at the end of the month.

According to a few Malibu residents, Mel Gibson is not the only member of his family causing a stir in the neighborhood. Some of his children are known as the "holy terrors of Malibu." One resident recalled a situation where two of Gibson’s sons tried to purchase kayaks and demanded the store put them on credit. When told the family didn’t have an account there, they went into a shouting tirade.

Keanu Reeves was spotted dining with his girlfriend (?) at the ArcLight Hollywood yesterday afternoon (located at 6360 W. Sunset Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90026). He even took the time to take pictures with fans during his dinner date (inset). Keanu’s animated film A Scanner Darkly — Richard Linklater’s animated drug surveillance saga — has only pulled in $4 million while the movie’s budget is an estimated $8.5 million. The movie has already opened in select cities and will continue to open in theaters nationwide through the month of July. Early reviews of the movie have been quite good. Anybody seen it yet? I haven’t but I definitely will very soon.

Reese Witherspoon’s scary lawyer people are not only suing Star Magazine but they’re also requiring me to publish this canned apology since Reese is not pregnant, so here goes:
RETRACTION & APOLOGY: We previously re-published a story which had appeared in Star Magazine claiming that actress Reese Witherspoon is pregnant with her third child. We now know that this story is false and unfounded. We regret the error and apologize to Ms.Witherspoon for any distress that the publication of this story may have caused.
This is the aforementioned "story" (already revised), published about a month ago. The funny thing is that I don’t even read Star Magazine. Weird, huh? In any event, SORRY REESE!! LOVE YA!!
