Just two days ago, Kellie Pickler flew into the Big Apple from her vacation in the Bahamas. The 22-year-old American Idol alum took to her MySpace to write about her trip to New York City so far:

“As soon as I arrived on Sunday I jumped off the plane and headed straight to my favorite place in Manhattan, the shoe department in Saks 5th Avenue!!! For first timers….just look for the elevator that says ‘Express Elevator To Shoes’….it’s like an elevator to heaven. lol. This shoe department is so fabulous it has it’s own zip code!!!! :)”

Kellie Pickler has taken to her MySpace to send holiday greetings to all of her fans in an entry called “LaZy RiVer”. Here’s what the 22-year-old American Idol alum had to say:

“MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Just wanted to send my love to all of you for blessing me with a wonderful year! I hope that you are able to spend your holiday season with good company and people you love. One of my friends (Meghan) from college and I randomly decided to have a girls week and come to the Bahamas for Christmas. The weather has been a little disappointing since we’ve been here….there has been an overcast everyday and it rained all day yesterday! I guess Meghan and I were good girls this year because Santa brought us sunshine today!!! WAHoooo!! So having said that I’m not wasting any time… we’re hitting the water slides!!!! love you all so much! happy holidays!! xoxo pickler. Kellie Pickler has taken to her MySpace page to update fans about the USO tour of military bases she just took.

She write, “I am more tired than I have ever been in my life and I don’t mind it at all. I just got back from my second USO tour. Once again, the most incredible thing I have ever done in my life.
I don’t think I have ever flown this much in my life. Monday we flew to Washington where we joined Admiral Mike Mullen (chairman of the joint chief of staff) to board our flight on a C-32 to Germany. That is where we kicked off our first show. I still can’t believe that in a matter of 6 days we flew to Germany, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, and England. The shows did not start until we landed on Tuesday and if I remember correctly we did 9 shows in 5 days!!!! I guess I am still on auto pilot, not sure why I am even up right now as I just got in from England late last night. lol. I don’t think this trip has really sunk in yet so it might take me a while to absorb everything….I’m kinda drawing blanks right now. I do however remember two things….seeing the faces of over 20,000 military men and women (that is forever imprinted in my mind) and….the horrific endless sight of porta potties (that too is forever imprinted in my mind).

A makeup-free Kellie Pickler stops by Andrews Air Force Baselands and then to Washington, D.C., just before heading off to Iraq to support the troops on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old former American Idol contestant was in very good spirits and happy to be supporting the troops with a surprise performance during the holiday season.

Joining the country crooner for the United Service Organizations tour was Kid Rock and Robin Williams.

As reported earlier, Mr. Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo competed in the U.S. Open Challenge charity event at Torrey Pines in San Diego. The challenge to the “average” golfer was to break 100. Romo finished the charity event with a group low score of 84! Way to go Romo! Justin Timberlake finished with 98 and Today Show Matt Lauer finished at an even 100.
