Kelly Clarkson pays for her lunch with a $100 bill at “Hale & Hearty Soups” in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday (March 11).

The 26-year-old American Idol champ opened up to British Cosmopolitan about her romantic life. “I’ve never been in love,” she admits. “I want to be so badly – I’m a hopeless romantic, but I haven’t been there yet.”

Kelly also calls out one of her exes, saying that he was only with her “because he wanted to be famous. Oh, and he also had [another] girlfriend the entire time we were together.”

She continues, “I love my career and being independent. I [just] find dating awkward – it’s like a question-and-answer session, but the guy has an unfair advantage because he’s probably read about me.”

Kelly Clarkson is skyrocketing back to the top, taking the April 2009 cover of Blender magazine. Here are some great highlights from the interview:

On peeing in the shower: “Anybody who says they don’t is lying.”

On taking pleasure in walking around naked: “I’m the kinda person who just doesn’t like clothes.”

On blowing her nose and then checking the tissue to see what color the snot is: “I mean, if you have a cold, you have to check, to see how sick you are.”

On the essence of her appeal: “The thing with me, and my audience in particular is, people look at me like a sister or a daughter. It’s not like people look at me as unattainable, some kind of star like that. People love the ‘real’ factor that’s involved, I think.”

On being an open book and willing to “talk about anything”: “I do not lie. Ever. I will tell my girlfriend if she looks fat in her jeans… When you don’t make yourself clear or heard, that’s where trouble starts. And that’s something I learned as a child. No one is going to know what you feel unless you tell them.”

Kelly Clarkson arrives for a pre-taping of Live with Regis and Kelly! in New York City on Tuesday morning (March 10).

The 26-year-old American Idol champ’s performance will air this Friday on Regis. Tomorrow, Kelly and Kanye West will perform on American Idol’s elimination show.

Kelly was recently asked about her collaboration with Katy Perry for the song “I Do Not Hook Up.” She tells Elle, “It has a cool message: It’s saying it’s okay to not be the girl who parties too much and sleeps around; it’s okay to be the girl who wants something solid. I believe in that.”

Although fans were supposed to wait a few more weeks for Kelly Clarkson’s new “All I Ever Wanted” album, the Norway division of iTunes had mistaken leaked it onto the Internets.

Apparently, users of the Norwegian iTunes were able to initially first stream 30-second-clips of the new album, only to find out they could purchase the entire album! Before long the album hit P2P sites and message boards around the world.

The 26-year-old original American Idol champ hit the red carpet in a perwinkle blue Carmen Marc Valvo dress and Loree Rodkin jewels. At the event, Kelly honored record industry boss Clive Davis. She received one of the evening’s biggest standing ovations with her performance of her new single, “My Life Would Suck Without You” and her own rendition of the Janis Joplin classic “Piece of My Heart.”

Victoria Beckham takes the February 2009 cover of Italy’s Vanity Fair. The cover photo may look familiar to you, it’s the same shoot from the January issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

The 34-year-old former Spice Girl told the mag she apparently loves the gays: “I love women. I like them as friends, as interesting people to speak with. But I love gay men. I always say it. Inside me there is a gay man who wants to come out! With heterosexual men I have nothing in common – excluding my husband, brothers and father, you understand.”

Meanwhile American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson is shooting down rumors that she plays for the other team: “I get that all the time. People are like, ‘Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I’d really love it.’ Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I’m like, ‘I’m glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because oftentimes men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.’ I could never be a lesbian. I would never want to date [someone like] myself, ever. I’m a crazy person. I need some kind of stable, quiet man. I don’t really care if you’re black, white, yellow, gay, straight, crazy, whatever. As long as you’re cool and you like the music, and you’re coming out to have a good time at the shows, I don’t really care. I have everything I just said in my family, so I’m just used to being surrounded by that. I just don’t know any different.”

Kelly Clarkson’s life certainly doesn’t suck!

Her new single “My Life Would Suck Without You” catapulted from the #97 position it held last week to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, breaking the record held by Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” which went from #96 to #1 in a week’s time.

In addition, the song holds #1 spot on the Digital Chart with 279,605 sold in its first week. This is the 3rd biggest digital song debut for a female artist. Congrats, Kelly!!!
